wish I could take it back and get another one because this is not what I wanted it's too loud and has a hard time keeping temperatures close to zero and I dont mean like a little loud it sounds like an airplane taking off and landing

Excellent freezer!

Our appliance repair guy recommended a Whirlpool self-defrosting freezer to us as the brand he was called on to repair the LEAST. The freezer is perfect for us. The bottom bin has a grill that will fall open if it is not completely hooked in, preventing the door from closing. You have to make sure it is fastened. In all other respects this is a super appliance.

utility freezer

Good, quiet freezer. It cooled down to -0- degrees in about 8 hours. It does not cycle often, but it is not summer hot here yet. They should get ride of the curved door top. This size -15.8 cuft - is just right for the over flow from out kitchen freezer. I keeps the extra ice, ice cream, and bulk frozen items for us. I like -0- degrees! I choose a manual defrost to prevent the warming that has to happen in frost free freezers. The shape of the interior will make it easier to defrost with a water hose; a 10 minute job if you connect to the hot water heater and let the water run out the garage door.I doubt I will be around to see if this one lasts 38 years like our previous Whirlpool freezer.

Good workhorse freezer

Purchased this freezer to replace a smaller, chest-type. Really like the accessibility of an upright freezer. This one has ample shelf space. Runs quietly. It is in our downstairs storage room.
