Enjoying the new electric range

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I don't have many complaints at all about this product. I have had the range for over a month now and the only thing I can complain about is the difficulty cleaning the range cooking surface. Also, the surface will scratch if you don't use flat-bottom pots/pans. The convection oven has worked like a charm. The broil option doesn't seem to really create the high heat I expected, but it does the job....eventually.
All in all, a good purchase for the money we spent and I'd recommend it to anyone.

Love this range!

Replaced a GE drop-in range that was installed when the house was built in the late 1960's. It still worked after all those years, but was very dated. Replaced with this range just before Christmas 2011. What a huge difference! Cooks evenly, bakes perfectly. Still exploring all of the features! Great product.Thanks GE!

backlight needed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] everthing good or better except can not see touch pad to enter controls, needs backlight to overcome. If no ventahood or other cabinet above stove would be fine otherwise have to use overstove range lights to use control panel

O.K., except for the problem with the panel readability and the error

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have good lighting in our kitchen, yet the glass control panel is not readable at all unless I turn on the microwave oven light above the range. The characters should have been much more prominent (for example, white, not gray), as the numbers are in the soft plastic control panels used in some ranges. We chose a range with a glass control panel because we felt it would be more durable, and ended up with a control panel which can't be read without additional lighting.
The instruction manual does not do a very good job of explaining how the oven temperature should be set and how the controls should be used when baking or roasting in convection mode.
When using the bridge burner and warming burner, an error showed up on the control panel and the range controls had to be reset. If it happens again, I will have to call for service.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Special Pots and Pans needed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was not informed that the cook top on this requires special cooking pots and pans. I use alot of cast iron and you can not use that on the cook top without damage. Very disappointed. Also the elements seem to hold there heat alot longer than they should after turning them off.
The over is nice and the warming drawer is nice. It is the cook top that requires alot of special maintenance to clean and watch so you don't damage it as a replacement top is more than what I paid for the whole stove.

This product did not fully live up to expectations.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Although the range's appearance and features are attractive the overall performance is lacking. The warming oven, even in the "off" position, still heats to the degree that it would work as a warming oven at all times. The temperature of the oven is too hot. Breads, in particular, burn on top even when cooked at recommended temperatures so all recipes must be adjusted to a lower temperature. The stove top is also very hot with settings higher than would be expected. For instance, foods will still boil at a 2 setting. The bridge feature is nice and one of the primary reason this range is attractive to buyers.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
