GREAT PICTURE OVER MY OLD UNIT, WHEN ADDED TO A SAMSUNG SMART TV THEY COMMUNICATE SO ONLY ONE REMOTE IS NEEDED VERY EASY SET UP

I wish I could use an ethernet on it. It's for hard wiring only.

Model BD-D5100ZA is a very good entry level player, bought 12/27/11. Found it to be very easy to set up and use. A perfect mate to our flat screen TV model LN32D450G1DXZA bought 12/10/11. Didn't think it was possible but our "aged" DVDs do look quite a bit better played on the BD-D5100. The sound is much improved as well. This unit is loaded with features and functions - all apparently useful, and not just bells; whistles or fluff! As with the TV, I have no doubt Samsung will "be there" for us with their outstanding tech support for this unit.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: largest aspect ratio of 16:9 is about an inch too

I was not really sold on getting a blu-ray but I got it for my boyfriend and I use it more than he does. Our movie budget is obsolete now days because we just watch movies on demand and it is sooo much better! We always volunteer to host movie night for family and friends :)

Slim unit and overall pleasant design that plays/upconverts my extensive legacy DVD collection. I give only 3 stars for features as it was not obvious that wireless connection was not feasible and also because the unit does not make use of any Samsung TV wireless connectibility. An obvious way to to open/close the unit would also help. Very good value for the money, despite these opportunities for improvement.
Pros: Inexpensive, Lightweight, slim design
Cons: no wireless capability, open/close requires thought

Finally decided to get a Blu-Ray and are very pleased. Thin, attractive design, easy to use, plays DVD's and Blu-Ray. Does everything we want.
