A good basic Blu-ray player

I have not used this unit other than to check it out for quality and performance. The main reason I purchased it was the attractive price and as an upgrade from an older DVD-only player to compliment a new Samsung HDTV. I do not plan on using it much for Blu-ray discs but did want the up-sampling feature to enhance non-Blu-ray DVDs.
There is no eject button on the remote which is a big deal to some, but if you open the tray, you have to get up and insert or remove a disc so what's the big deal?
This is a basic unit with no wifi which I do not need. It appears to be a good unit at a good price. Time will tell.
Pros: Inexpensive, Lightweight
I would recommend this to a friend!

MY FIRST SAMSUNG BLUE-RAY DVD PLAYER THAT CONNECTS TO MY FIRST SAMSUNG 32" LED TV. THIS PRODUCT HAS GREAT FEATURES. MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS THAT THERE'S NO EJECT BUTTON ON THE REMOTE. BUT I STILL HAVE TO GET UP AND TAKE THE DVD OUT,SO IT'S OKAY.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight

Overall, I'm a samsung fan. I have a DLP and LED TV from them that are great. I cannot say the same however about this player. There are four annoyances that are pushing me to look at a different player.
1. Slow load time
2. The audio gets disconnected from the video about 25% of the time. This results in a total shutdown to get it to sync up again.
3. Pause sometimes only pauses the audio, but not video resulting in annoyance #2.
4. Title menu takes you back to the device screen rather than the disc menu.
I thought the issue was the bios, but even after updating it, I still had the problems.
I bought this to reduce the use of my 3 yr old PS3, but I have had none of these issues with the PS3. With the time allotted, I would have expected something better from samsung :(

Great for the price

Have had this unit for 2 months and have not had any problems. It was hard at first not having a open/close button on the remote. I have this unit hooked up to my new Samsand 43" Plasma TV and the picture is great. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a really good unit at a great price.

Netflix Access

My brother wanted access to Netflix after I had set it up on my Samsung Blue-Ray player Model BD-D5500. So I went and bought a cheaper model BD-D5100 for him. This model still supports Netflix but not some other Samsung Apps. This unit was easy to set up and connect to any TV with HDMI connection. I then bought another BD-D5100 for my bedroom at home. I love it!
Pros: Inexpensive, Durable, Lightweight, easy set up
