Great monitor, my third HP monitor; graphics and text are very acceptable. I actually cannot use the HP x2301 I ordered because of its highly reflective screen. My room has a large window behind me and the HP is like a mirror, reflecting the window and washing out the display. I gave this monitor to my son and traded him for his 21" Samsung that works out much better for my bright room. There is absolutely no interfering reflections coming from the Samsung.
I wish HP would have cautioned against using this monitor in bright rooms. Think about trying to use the electronic tablets outside and you get the "picture" of what I'm trying to convey. If you have a place to use this monitor that doesn't have lighting or windows behind you, then this would be a great monitor to own. Otherwise go for something with a matte finished.

It has a sharp view. It can be operated with two p.c far as i know. I have a desktop hooked up with DVI, and a laptop hooked up with HDMI and I can use input bottom to switch between two.

Two of them failed

Nice monitor but TWICE after 6-7 days of use, screen went to sleep and never woke up. I was using a new MacBook Air via HDMI and the monitor scanned and could fine no signal. Tried w/ a ThinkPad via VGA - same, no signal detected. FYI, both laptops worked fine w/ another monitor I have. Returned the 2nd one for a refund.

Monitor is impressive looking. First installed on an old XP system while awaiting my new Windows 7 machine. I would say it was only average on the XP machine. On the new Windows 7machine, I am able to utilize the DVI input for a very sharp display. Seemed like the monitor was overly bright with a bluish cast until I used some of the display adjustments available in Windows 7. I will probably acquire a calibrator similar to a Spyder sometime in the future.

HP x2301 23" Micro Thin LED Monitor Reviiew

The monitor lives up to its claims for brightness and response time speeds. Its thin line design and stylish base make it a great desk top addition. But the monitor has a few short comings which prevent it from ever being a real 5 star winner.
First there are no speakers built into the monitor. This presents a minor glitch when you use a HDMI cable to connect it to a laptop and Windows defaults to the non-existent speakers. The other irritation is that there is no height adjustment for the monitor. I had to add a 3" riser to the monitor to make it comfortable to use.

Great picture, crisp, and nice sleek/thin design.

This monitor has a nice clean feel to it, picture is very bright and vibrant. The thing takes almost no desk space and is very sleek and attractive. Con: The monitor wouldn't fill the screen when I set it to its natural resolution of 1920x1080. It would leave black bars around the edges. Kind of annoying! I've managed to fix it by using my video cards software "Catalyst Control Center" and dragging the Overscan/Underscan bar to stretch the screen to fill those black bars. It looks fine like this once windows is started and the Catalyst software takes control but on bootup process and when windows first loads the black bars are around the edges. Not a big deal, just peculiar since it's supposed to be its recommended resolution.

Good Monitor for Size

This is my first HP monitor and my first 23" monitor. The size is excellent. However, there are occasions where either the games I play or one of my other tools seems to cause the screen to go dark. I know the PC is working as I hear the sounds. But the monitor will be unable to find the HDMI or DVI connection. I pull the cables, reboot. and then after some time it works again. So not sure what is going on. Other than that issue, it is a very good monitor.

With the easy set up I had to check to make sure I didn't miss anything because the set up went so smoothly. Very satisfied.
