Outstanding rice cooker!

Our problem in the past has been that cooking it on the stove has been OK, but not consistent, and a try with a microwave cooker was a complete flop. The first time out with our Hamilton Beach Digital Simpliity Rice cooker/steamer, the rice was done perfectly. I can't wait to try the steamer function.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I can now make rice that actually comes out good. No more instant rice for me. Easy to use directions. The steaming basket is nice to steam fish/vegies, while making the rice for a complete meal in one pot.

Versatile amd easy to use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've made several meals in this rice maker and have found it to perform far above my expectations. The only limitations to making one dish meals are in your own creativity. I've cooked pork chops, chicken and steamed fish in this baby along with rice and vegetables.
Just add your ingredients, close the lid and select a cooking mode. The digital timer starts counting down and once it's finished it switches to keep warm and the timer counts
up the minutes in this mode.
Clean up is easy with the non stick cooking pot and removable lid liner and condensation collector. The steamer basket works great for foods you want to keep separated. The delay timer is perfect for those times you want to come home from work and have a warm tasty meal all ready to eat. The owners manual is easy to understand and has 6 recipes to try but there are tons of recipes on the internet to try and give you ideas. I'll be experimenting with desserts before the holiday's.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love my Hamilton Beach Digital Simpliity Rice Cooker/Steamer! This little rice cooker is so handy and convenient, it's very easy to use and makes the perfect servings. It's easy to use, easy to measure out the portions and with a few simple presses of a button you will have your meal ready in no time. I love the idea of not having to watch over a stove with boiling water. Plus it keeps the rice warm when it's done unlike a pot on the stove just getting soggy. Clean up is easy and quick. Very happy with this product, I recommend it to anyone that loves quick and easy rice. The steamer tray is so wonderful too, and you get such a delicious meal with ease. I really love the fact that you can have more than one item cooking in this at a time but only have to clean up once. We have recommended it to friends and family and love it so much! So easy to use!

Good quality rice cooker, steamer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just received my my new Hamilton Beach Digital Simpliity Rice cooker steamer.
First, the appliance itself comes with condensation collector, spoon, pot, basket, rice measuring cup. After reading the manual, it said it is important to keep and use the the included rice measuring cup. It is an exact measurement for use with the appliance. There are several modes on the control panel. You can do white or whole grain rice. It steams, cooks, simmers and keeps warm. There are requirements, so important to read manual.
The Pros: It is convenient when cooking for 2 or more people. It helps eliminate extra cooking pots.
Another good feature when steaming food is, if the cooking water boils away, the cooker beeps and the time will flash on the digital read out on the front. You need to add more water, then it will start re-steaming if you re-start within 3 min. If not, appliance will turn off. Good safety feature.
The feature delay start works great for food that is not a perishable. It depends on the recipe you are making. Everything in my opinion is recipe based when making a combination meal. What I mean is, when cooking a combination of food in pot and steamer, you can’t just throw things and push start. Maybe there is someone who can just toss and cook! You have to know what mode to use. There is a process. I found you also should research on line for more recipes. The manual/recipe book has some samples, however, you will want more.
I made glazed steam salmon in basket with cooked potatoes with skins on in the pot from recipes included in the manual. It called for rice, however I knew it did rice and I wanted to experiment.
I had to start cooking potatoes first, then opened, check water level and added the salmon to basket. It worked well. I then peeled and mashed the potatoes after. I did try rice and cod the next day, but we finished eating and I remembered we forgot pictures.

I like the Hamilton Beach Digital Simpliity Rice cooker steamer. For me personally, I think it I will be using it mostly for steaming fish, vegetables, and rice on a regular basis. I am interested in trying the oatmeal recipe in manual, soup, hard boiled eggs, and cake I found on-line. As I mentioned earlier in my review, this Hamilton Beach Digital Simpliity Rice cooker steamer, helps to eliminate the use of multiple appliances or pots and makes clean up much easier.
