Almost perfect............except for the toner.

This printer fits our office needs perfectly since it combines copy/scanner function with laser printer w/o fax. Copies and print out is nice and clear, but we could use fast print speed though.
Major drawback is the toner, Brother implemented a mechanical page counter so it will stop printing completely even though there are plenty of toner left in the cartridge and no way to reset it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great low price Laser Printer

Have small home office, this is the perfect printer, copier, scanner. Also have Brother MFC420CN which if need color printing I will still use. Laser printer easy to set up, wireless great for others in home to connect to. Going to enjoy not having to replace color ink cartridges every month or so.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Meets all my requirements

The HL-2280Dw was a fortunate find after my trusty old Brother Laser printer fell victim to a lightening strike. Based on my past experience with a Brother printer I expected this to be just as good and was not disappointed, I'm glad to find the scanner is good enough to replace my current scanner, which was having problems with Windows 7. Duplex printing has turned out to be a real convenience. At the price you can't beat this machine.

This is a high quality product with an easy wireless setup. If you need the duplex feature, it is a great purchase. If duplex is not needed, the 2270DW is also a very good machine and uses less space.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I love Brother printers & wanted one to copy to.
I bought this one . Unit works well. I have had no problems. I use the unit to print Tax Returns. It works great. Very easy setup.

Great machine but have question

I really enjoy this small machine in my home-based business office but have one question. Following a print operation the machine hums for about 8 to 10 minutes before going silent. Is this necessary or is there a means of eliminating this? I see nothing about it in the guide and it is a bit annoying in my small and quiet office.

Fabulous Printer!

I purchased this printer to replace an 8-year-old Brother manual duplex laser printer that I gave to a friend. Since I need to print both documents & music which need to be printed on both sides, I needed a printer with auto-duplex. After using this printer for 6 months, I am VERY pleased with my purchase!
Set-up with my wi-fi was a breeze, and software installation and configuration was flawless. Brother makes everything so easy to do and understand. Printing is fast, the littering is crisp and sharp, the paper feeds through smoothly, and there's been no paper jams or any other problem with this printer in six months. Love it!!
So far, in printing, I have used regular printer paper, high-quality laser paper, transparencies, and thin card stock... all performed beautifully and the printing was great. No complaints at all so far (I have not yet used the scanner or FAX YET, so I cannot comment on those functions).
I can definitely recommend this printer to anyone who needs a reliable B&W laser printer that's fast, easy to set up, has excellent print quality, and is a great value for the price (I did buy the printer on sale at Staples).
If helpful, I will report any updates or issues in the future. In the meantime, count me as a totally satisfied customer and proud own of yet another Brother printer (I also own a Brother MFC-J835DW color inkjet printer... and love it, too!).

Versitile Printer

Excellent printer, however, based on the location of the delivery of documents it is not conducive to large volume printing and must be emptied or pages will fall out. Otherwise, and excellent printer and worth the purchases.
