Best Printer Ever

I love this printer. I do a lot of printing and this is saving me a bunch of money. Other printers promise to save you money....they lie! This one really does save you money.
I couldn't possibly recommended it more strongly!

I'm very satisfied with the HL2280DW.
I was looking for an efficient b/w duplex laser printer with a copy feature.
I was initially concerned about reviews that I read mentioning loud idle noise and annoying scanner software popup adds. However, based on positive experience with earlier Brother products, I decided to take a chance.
I'm very glad I did because the printer works great, the duplex printing is super. The included scanning software exceeded my expectations. Also I find the printer to be very very quiet (especially while in standby) and NO POPUP ADDS.
Great printer, great buy!!! Highly recommended.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good printer for the price. Only thing lacking is an Automatic Document Feeder for the scanner. If you plan to, or even think you might need to scan multiple documents, this is not the all-in-one for you. Another consideration is toner. The High Capacity toner states up to 2600 copies. I have never gotten anywhere close to that. I am lucky to get 1500, normally more like 1200.
Print quality is great. I don't print graphics very often and have been a bit disappointed with the darkness of the few I have done. Greyscale on the other hand produces a clear, legible, and great graphic.

This is a fine printer. However, there is no Automatic Document Feeder. It is difficult to use as a scanner.

Good Purchase - But

This HL-2280DW printer is really pretty good. Only buy Brother Cartridge as others will give you problems and will not work and will not reset the counters inside the machine.. Brother has figured out a way to only use their cartridges. Compatibles will not work correctly. Their is a 5 limit use license on the product. When things do not work properly and you keep re-installing, remember that. Be gentle, it is only plastic. Also, remember that according to the repair shops this is a disposable printer because of the price.

The HL-2280DW includes the Brother software suite which has all the necessary Brother drivers and software utilities for using all features of the machine with the exception of OCR. There are no restrictions on the number of computers you can install Brother branded software on. Also included with the HL-2280DW is Scansoft PaperPort 12se by Nuance which is a document management software that also allows you to OCR documents when scanning. This software does have a five user limit but it is not a requirement to install this additional software to use the HL-2280DW unless you require OCR. There is a selection on the installation CD-ROM to install all of the Brother software without PaperPort 12se or you can download the full Brother installer (without PaperPort) at http://support.brother.com

This is our first multi-copier and is has been nothing but a headache. First I tried to program it to run on wifi system, but could not get it to function. So then I tried to hook it up with a printer cable, but it still will not function with my new computer. The one positive thing I can say is, it makes a very good photo copier. I have tried to contact tec support and have not given up on it. I have had several other Brother printers and have always had very good experiences. I guess it's just to fancy of a printer for an "old geezer".
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
