I bought this printer to help me with my work as an ESL tutor. I needed a printer that was economical, reliable, and able to produce good quality worksheets, etc. In all those areas this printer has performed solidly.

I am very pleased with this printer. We use it on WIFI in our residence. We have an I-pad as well as several pcs and all can print to this machine without incident.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Installation was a bear, but once installed it works o.k.
I do like the simplicity of scanning, but have difficulty with the Paper port features. I have had to uninstall and reinstall twice and still need to adapt my own short cuts.
I have an HL5170DN that I have used for years and still prefer to use it for duplex printing due to the complexity of instructions on the 2280.

Works like a champ

My wife and I have owned 4 Brother printers over the past few years. She only upgraded hers to go wireless. I gave my older one to her mother and purchased the HL-2280DW on Black Friday so I could scan and print. I don't use my printer a lot, my wife uses her for her work. We have never had any problems with any of our Brother printers and just recommended the 2280 to a friend who needs a printer for her work.

So Far So Good

So far, So good. My printer has lived up to all my expectations. I have had my printer about 2-months. So, I can't speak of the toner just yet. The printing is quiet. It was however, not easy for me to set up. After a couple of days, I had to call a friend to do that for me. I have not tried the duplex yet. I will let everyone know what I think of that. It is bulkier than I envisioned, so I had to rethink where I wanted to place it. But, so far, I am happy with it.

Great B&W laser printer

I have used this laser printer for 4 months now. It has performed flawlessly. The printed copies come out very quickly. Duplexing has saved me lots of paper. The print quality is very clear. I print about 500 copies a month and have not encountered a paper jam.

I haven't done a lot of printing with this unit so far but I sure love the quality of printing and operation. As I use it more I will do add-on's to the review.
