Perfect!

Love this printer. Easy to set up. Runs so quietly I have to go look to see if it actually printed the job. I just leave it on all the time due to the sleep function. Uses a minimal amount of energy to be ready when I need it. Can't go wrong with this one!

Using with an iPad

I had bought this printer thinking that I could print from the print menu on my iPad. This because it said it was iprint compatable, not realizing that to do that I needed an Airprint compatable. My mistake for not researching all this better before my purchase. With the iprint app you can print from the iPad. However I am not able to get it to print out some things, example to print out an email you have to copy it to the clipboard first. In doing that you are not able to print out the name of the sender and etc. There is a work around by using a program like fingerprint on your windows computer then you can use all the airprint features on your ipad. The quality of the print, low cost of operation, the mechanical performace of the paper feeder is great as it has been on all the Brother printers I have used.

Good bargain printer

The set up was easy by following the directions. The printer is not blazingly fast, but speed is not an issue as I never print large amounts with urgency. It is a little noisier than most I have had, but not to the point of distraction. And I am not in the same room as the printer, but mostly print off of my laptop in another room, so I like to be able to hear it kick off. The scanner works fine also. Love the duplex mode.

Kinda Disappointed

Not exactly thrilled with this printer.
The scanner has a low resolution (only 600dpi) and can't scan larger than an 8.5 x 11" sheet of paper. The print resolution is pretty bad - not clean lines but rather boxy pixels to make up lines and text. I suppose I have an eye for good printing (I am a designer and letterpress printer) but have also seen good examples of laser printers and this is not one of them.
But that's not my main point of contention. The wireless function on this printer is TERRIBLE. I've spent hours on the phone with representatives trying to get it set up (good luck trying to find online documentation) only for the printer to be unable to be found by my wireless network only a few weeks later. I've quit trying to re-set up the wireless function every time it goes down because it is such a hassle. Now I have to carry each of my computers over to the printer anytime I need to print anything. I would not purchase this printer again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Printer

Having used laser printers for many years, I would say I got a great deal. Easy to use, very fast and saves paper and time. It's not as study as the ones from the 90s, but it is very lightweight. I really like the auto-shut off feature.

This is by far the best all-in-one printer I have owned to date. The print is clear and crisp. It is much more economical than ink jet printers that waste ink every time you use them. The toner cartridges last a very long time and are inexpensive. The duplex feature is great and envelopes print perfectly. The only thing I would have liked in this printer is a higher resolution scanner. Really love this printer.

Love this printer. It is so much faster than my inkjet, doesn't smear. Print is sharp and looks great. It will even print on both sides of the paper. Glad I bought it.
