My hubby bought the droid mini and we turned to OtterBox to protect it, of course! The defender case itself is awesome-- love it. However, the screen protector part of the case is very poorly designed. It cuts the sensitivity waaaay down to the point that the phone won't function properly with it on. After calling OtterBox, they immediately sent us out a new one in case it was that particular case's issue. (Props to OtterBox-- best customer service in the world!) We ended up cutting that part off of the case and using a regular screen protector instead.
Pros: Durable
Cons: poor design on screen protector

The phone case is a very nice quality product. But the built in screen protector cause the touch screen to not work properly. The holes for the camera and microphone allow lots of dust particles and debris to get under the screen protector. I have to take apart the case regularly and clean out the inside. On the other hand otterboxs customer service was great and they helped me out I just wish that the case worked better for the phone.

Cons: causes phone to function improperly

This otter box much lighter than my last, but when my phone is in my pocket while working the otter box fills up with heavy dust (work in construction) daily. The dust enters through the slit in the plastic at the top of the phone. The screen gets so dusty on the inside (between phone screen and otter box protective screen) I cannot see the phone screen! Definitely a waste of money if you work in the construction field.
Pros: Durable
Cons: Low quality

great case, small design flaw

I love this case. I am hard on phones and need something like this. It fits and works great. The only issue I had was that my screen would go blank while in a call because the clear protective plastic covers the motion sensor. I cut the top portion of the clear plastic away to reveal more of the phone's sensors that are to the left of the front camera. It worked and now the case and phone function flawlessly. I only removed maybe 2mm and you cannot even tell.
Pros: High quality, Durable
Cons: modify it just a little

I've had other Droid phones in the past and the clips on their cases broke easily. I was hoping with the Droid Mini, the case had improved but it has not. I had the new cell a little over a month and the clip on the case broke. Quality control really needs to address this issue.
Cons: Not durable

When I purchased my Droid Mini. I had never heard of the OtterBox. I told the Sales person that I needed a protective case that was Gregg Proof. I bought it on a Saturday and had broken it by 10am Monday morning. The clip/holster broke on me. I contacted OtterBox and they sent me a completely new case. I only needed the phone holster. That being said the service department was outstanding. The over all OtterBox is

The case that protects the phone itself is a very good product. However the belt holster is the part that needs improvement. I have experienced the phone falling out of the holster on several occasions and had the belt clip break off the holster. The company replaced the case and holster.
