I think the case is ok. I don't really like it because the back is too slippery, the button covers make it hard to adjust volume and power on and off. Also, the screen cover didn't apply very well. There are bubbles that wouldn't come out and it is lifting at the edges. I will be getting something else.
This product is a slam dunk. The only thing I would like is to have a more grippy texture on the lower half of the sides. Other than that, this thing rocks!
Great product, glad I have it! The only thing I would change is the smooth back. My old phone and case had a skid proof back. For instance it would stay on my leg under the conference table during meetings. This one slides off.
Pros: High quality, Durable
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have had this commuter otterbox since I first purchased my phone. I as many bought into the peace of mind that the name otterbox carries. My first mistake was buying the light color one which seems to be in a constant state of dirty. It looked great for a few weeks but then the rubber seemed to absorb all kinds of nasty which stained it into a dingy grey. So it gets frequent washes with a mild soap and water, but it also leaves me thinking if it can absorb these dirts and stains what else is being absorbed into the rubber? Nonetheless, I kept the case on thinking of the protection it would offer in case I dropped the phone. Last night it happened I reached over to get my phone and it slid off my nightstand, the phone landed perfectly flat screen down but it also made a weird noise, which reminded me of a bellyflop. I picked up the phone and sitting in the case without any external damage the phone was displaying a strange rainbow of bright colors. The screen had cracked, not the external gorilla glass but the internal lcd screen. Why would I say it is the fault of the case? If you look at how a phone would land perfectly on its face the force of the impact would be spread across the entire surface. However when you're in an otterbox, not only do you have that same force plus the additional weight of the otterbox, you also have the counterforce of the rubber itself. This additional force is also pinpointed along the edges of the phone. While this seems like a nice sturdy place to concentrate the additional forces, in that rare event that the phone lands perfectly facedown it has the tendency to cause all the phones internal parts and lcd screen to flex under all these additional forces and you end up with a very pretty but nonfunctional phone.

Hi collegelady,
We’re very sorry to hear that your phone sustained damage while in the OtterBox Commuter case. We strive to offer the most protective cases on the market, but unfortunately, we are unable to guarantee a favorable outcome in all situations. this was a good buy for the price, but this product could come with a belt clip

Hi NorthCoast,
Thanks for the feedback on the OtterBox Commuter! We’re glad that you’re feeling pretty good about the case, and we appreciate your suggestion about the belt clip/holster. While we do not currently offer a compatible holster for the Commuter Series, we do have a line called the Defender which does have this great feature. You can check it out right here on our website:
