The filter is effective. It does last several months. From the time I install it to the time the purifier light diplays the change filter light is usually six months or more. So far, I am very pleased with the filter and the purifier.

I like this filter-no obvious

I like this filter-no obvious odor to it like with some others and the air in my bedroom smells clean! The sound of my Alen unit lulls me to sleep & the fan speed can be turned to High to use as a sort of noise cancellation device.
