Poorly built

This refrigerator looks nice in its slate color, but that's about it. The drawers are cheaply constructed and are difficult to use. The plastic holders in the freezer have already cracked off-- items fell out and damaged my floor. The freezer door does not close firmly. I wanted a small refrigerator without an ice maker and this was the only GE choice in slate. What a mistake.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I purchased this refrigerator as a back up to our main one and it looks like it will be okay but not the quality I used to expect from GE Products. I have been unhappy with the cooling controls and had problems initially with the refrigerator being too warm and the freezer too cold until I was told that the control in the refrigerator compartment only affects the refrigerator and that the freezer has no control! This is rather counter-intuitive and I really don't like that I have no way to control the temperature in the freezer! The freezer is still sitting well below 0 degrees!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love the color

My wife wanted the "slate" color for her appliances. GE is the only company offering this... The fridge looks great and the shelving design works well for us. We bought a GE range in slate as well. Very pleased that it's built in the USA!

I've had the refridgator 5 days. The bottom drawers are extremely hard to slide, any suggestions? Also any way to move outside door handle of refrigerator in more? No light in freezer, I miss it!

I liked that this refrigerator was small for my small kitchen, but wish the freezer had it's own controls and light. Works fine, looks great and the price was the best..

Not bad, not good. Only bought this model because it was the only slate model available in the18 cubic foot size.
