Good buy

I have had my refrigerator for a month and I am quite happy with it. It is roomy and had 3 drawers for meats and produce. I have received compliments on the appearance. The only complaint I have is the shelves are hard to adjust.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Like the slate look!

We've had our new fridge for about a month now - Although I like the look of the front of the appliance, I wish the sides were the slate color and not black. Still adjusting to the inside size as this is a bigger fridge from our original, however, seems to have less space and am missing my split shelving options; but overall it is a good appliance and we are happy with the purchase.

Bought this in April 2014, There really is quite a bit less space then I had anticipated.
Negatives - Space issues, Bottom veggie drawers difficult to operate, not available in freezer on the bottom, runs loudly

Had our frig for about 3 months after a previous 14 year old frig died.Love the matte finish and non shiny silver we chose.No finger prints but still holds magnets.Really classy looking and we love the deeper door shelf for milk,etc.
Compressor is a bit louder than our previous frig but we have kind of gotten use to it and not a problem.

Okay, but...

I bought this appliance a couple of weeks ago and it makes an awful lot of noise. I also wish that I had looked into a larger size because although it is taller than my old one, there is actually less space inside. I love the slate color but wish it was slate colored on the sides, too, since it is free-standing in my kitchen. It does WORK, though!

Noisy top freezer - very disappointed

We purchased this specific refrigerator to match the other Slate GE appliances when we remodeled our kitchen in the spring of 2014. Unfortunately, the noise that this top freezer model makes is totally unacceptable. The repair man has been out twice and installed something in the freezer are to dampen the noise. It was quieter at first but now it is loud and annoying. We were told by the repairman that today's top freezer models make noise - truly it sounds like an airport. We do not have the ice maker hooked up but I do not think that would made a difference. So sad and sorry as we were told there is nothing else they can do for us. And because it has been put into a custom built kitchen, I guess we will just have to live with it. Even the retailer we purchased ALL 4 of the GE appliances from said we were out of luck. Truly disappointed...
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
