I have used all modes of this unit & it works equally as well as my last all in one from HP.
I really like that I can purchase High Capacity ink cartridges for all colors & balck, as well.

I have owned many printers in the 25 years of using, building and enjoying PC's
This printer is very easy to use, I love the Wi-Fi connection so you can plug it in, use the cd to set it up and print from anywhere without having a cable running up and down walls.
This printer is very ink friendly, the cartridges are large and do not need changing ever time you use the machine. I usually get several months of printing, mostly net stuff and copies, fax's ect. I don't print many pictures.
You can print an image on a printable cd/dvd with this unit
It has a front sd card reader and front usb slot so you can print or save on your pc from a flash drive or sd card. very easy.
I will not be changing this unit anytime soon, I like it that much, hope this helps you Frankie Dee

I love my new printer. I even have an app on my phone where I can print to my printer. The only thing I wish I could get it to only print in black instead of always wanting to print in greyscale which uses my color ink. I can find a setting to use only black.

Pretty good printer

Overall, pretty good, flexible and generally reliable printer that I'd buy again. Here's the Pro and Con:
PRO:
* WiFi setup smooth with no problems
* Prints well
* Scans/reproduces well
* Built well considering it's a printer
* Separate ink cartridges for each color mean you only have to replace ones that are actually empty. Also, using separate cartridges for each color means you can use refillable cartridges, see next point below
* KEY POINT - you can buy after-market refillable ink cartridges and this printer does NOT use a cartridge chip -- in English, this means it's easy to use refillable cartridges because the printer doesn't check to see if they're genuine. Over time, this makes the Brother MUCH MORE AFFORDABLE than many other printers. I'd buy the printer again for this feature alone.

* Printer seems fairly prone to printer jams, especially in dusty environments. I moved the printer to inside an enclosed media cabinet and this has solved 90% of the jamming problem. So, not a big issue.
* If you do NOT use refillable cartridges, this printer sucks down ink...though to be fair I don't know if it does this more than any other printer. I do know that to keep the ink heads from clogging, a good printer will periodically go through cleaning cycles whether you use it or not, and this uses ink. So you could conceivably never use a printer and have it run empty after a while anyway.

OVERALL
It's a good, solid printer. The minor dings above -- thirst for ink and infrequent printer jams -- can both be solved. And to reiterate, if you do use refillable cartridges, this printer is DIRT CHEAP to use.

this is an excellant product, easy to fix paper jams, scan photos and documents and printing.
However, this product does seem to use alot of ink, when the printer is not in use, I understand the daily automatic maintanance does use a small amount.
enabling the ink saver mode does help.

My Best Brother MFC!

I was pleasantly surprised when I set up my new compact MFC by Brother International! I have owned over the past 25 years or so two Brother MFC's because it is a reliable brand and they always serve me well! But my new one is the most compact, sleek-looking and quiet one I have ever owned! I also love the all digital features, including the well-lit screen. For a compact product the copying speed is very good. Plus this MFC is also network ready, as was my previous one, so I can use it with my Desktop PC to scan and to print! I love the extra large ink cartidges which gives a larger yield of printed sheets per cartridge! The ink quality is very good also. I'm one happy 'camper'!
