My best purchase

I like this printer accept that the wireless I still can not get it to work, I do need some help to get it up and running. there some problems with the program and the set up. My previous two brother printers never had any problems whit the program and the set up if any was to go wrong all I had to do was unistall it and reinstall the program and set up and it was up and running, no problems. The only thing that would break down the papper tray, they are to flinsy. I still like the Brother printers then other ones
yes I still recommend the brother printers.

all good except scanning function

Though complicated to set up, the compact inkjet all in one wireless printer has been easy to use with the exception of the scanning function which seems to just drop out and go away periodically, requiring a paid technician to spend several hours to bring it back. The scanning function also does not have the flexibility of my former scanner, especially for multi-page .pdf files. Overall, it is a good product for a modest price, though.

The printer grabs multiple pieces of paper. I can't print envelopes or cards because it jams. I bought it because of the price -- it was cheap. It's true what they say, you get what you pay for.

Huge Disappointment

I purchased the printer nearly 14 months ago. Everything worked well until a month ago, when the cover (to the scanner/copier surface) would not open. It only lifts ~ 1cm on one side and is quite lightweight. Nothing physical happened to the printer to cause the malfunction and I am the only person who utilizes it.
Customer Service advised that I would have to pay for service at a (distant) authorized repair facility because the printer is out of warranty (by 1 month!). It will be less expensive and more convenient to purchase a different printer from a more reliable manufacturer.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We got the printer a few months ago and so far I have only used the printer for printing my bills and statements. It has done an excellent job. I enjoy the two-sided capability and the many print options. I did a few text scans and it did a nice job with that too. I haven't printed any pictures yet, but I think it will be sufficient.. I don't have a landline so I won't be able to use the fax. I didn't need a fax but the printer came with it. Lynn

Great Product So Far

We've had this printer for a couple of months now, and so far so good. It prints way faster than our old printer. We kept getting hand me down HP printers, and they kept breaking on us, plus the ink was sooo expensive. We finally decided to buy a brand new one, and not an HP. We don't use the printer tons. We haven't had to replace the initial ink cartridges that come with the printer yet, but soon. Our daughter has used the scanner, and it seems to work okay. The only thing is that the printer sure makes a lot of noise after a print job, like it is getting set up for the next job, which is fine, I just hope it doesn't mean that it is something else to break down, since they made it so sophisticated. Overall though, we are definitely happy so far.

I've only had this printer for a week now but so far very happy with it. Prints quickly with good quality. I've used many printers in the past and this was by far the easiest setup I've ever had esp. since I use it on a home network. Just hook it up and follow software prompts. Also ran a firmware update that was available from the brother site with no issues. The only thing I can't speak to is durability but if it last its definitely a great product.
