All of the features on the product work well, but the printer wastes ink cartridges. I only print in black and white, but to get it to print color cartridges have to be put in as well. After printing, the ink indicator will lower for black and color when color isn't being used. When the black is used up, it indicates all of the other cartridges need to be replaced as well. It is not due to deterioration over time, as my color cartridges go out after only a few months with no use. It is very annoying and a waste of money to buy new ink all the time to replace unused cartridges!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

reliable printer

very reliable for use with my ios and mac equipment. Use it wirelessly, let it just sit there, it seems to shut down completely, and when I need it there it is. easier to install than the directions led me to believe, if there is a problem it is in the instructions being to circuitous (sp?) and even misleading.
I would recommend this to a friend!

1st I loved the product until there was an update that it messed up the fax which I definitely can not receive fax and quality of the printing of the picture. But over all I like it!!!!!

Better the second time around

Had problems with paper loading properly on first unit. Brother was helpful with advices but nothing worked. They sent a replacement unit which seems to be doing the job nicely. Appreciate the service and will stay with Brother

Since we have purchased this machine it is hit and miss. The hit is the quality of printing (looks), the miss is the feeder. I print about 20 church bulletins per week, they are slightly thicker than regular printing paper, and each week I run into problems. It will spit out 2-3 sheets at a time, or jam one up. Sometimes it goes fine, or other times it goes for a while then acts up. This is not cost effective for us as we are a small church on a tight budget and cannot afford to throw 2-3 messed up sheets away per week.
If that were not happening this machine would be fine.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
