impressed w ease of use, setup & customer service

Purchased at walmart.com not expecting much, but what a value! I'm pleasantly surprised the video images are are as good in play back as they are live. The infrared quality is pretty amazing too. Connecting to iphone and computer through the internet was easy, but I made the mistake of changing the DVR password and initially made it too long. After countless attempts to figure it out I emailed Defender-USA customer service, the very next morning I got a call back from Michel at DEFENDER and walked me through the problem in minutes. Turns out the only problem was my password was longer than six alpha-numeric characters and I only needed to delete and reenter the info on the CLEARVU App and select device ID.

Excellent Product

I have three 16 channel Pro's that I've had for a few years that have worked perfectly outside. I purchased this 8 channel Pro dome unit for inside and like all the others it works perfectly. I choose Defender because I believe they are the best in quality. Picture and view is great, crisp and clear. Very easy to install and the support is excellent.

Great Product - Simple to setup and install

I was very impressed with the design and ease of installation. Once the I routed the wires through my house the installation took less than 10 minutes. The instructions are great and easy to follow.

Wifi Killed My Wifi, got the wired version instead

We had Christmas laser lights stolen off our front yard. We have also had an influx of punks in the neighborhood and I had been thinking about getting a system for quite some time. I did a ton of research and found the Defender product line was the best for the money. I got the WiFi system first and the cameras were great as well as easy set-up. The only problem was it killed my WiFi (TWC from 25mpbs to 1-2mpbs). So, I boxed it up and returned it and immediately ordered the wired version (Defender Sentinel Pro Widescreen 8-Channel Security DVR with 2TB HDD and 4 Surveillance 800TVL Cameras). It was a easy set-up and the cameras work well with very clear images during the day. Night vision can be grainy because of street lighting in the distance but it still works for what is needed. I did hang one camera where I get a little halo effect at night (IR) but it works for what I need. I will be getting more cameras to complete the 8 channels and I should have ordered them as a package (hindsight!). I will be playing around with getting the system online so I can view from anywhere. I did call customer service with a question regarding the wire extensions and they were very helpful. I am hoping this system lasts a long long time. One caution: the dome cameras have little tiny clear rubber stoppers that keep the camera stable. These are easily dislodged and lost.

Great Product

I purchased this system early November 2015. The video is crisp & clear, the night vision is great its visibility is clear. The only negative that I can give this product is that setting up email alerts are not user friendly. More detailed step by step instructions is needed in order to setup email alerts up.

This is the second system I've bought this year. The first is located at a 5 unit rental property in FL the other is in MD. Both are working fine. Neither are set up for remote internet access at this time. Good quality for the price.

Excellent quality product with clear color video pictures in lighted areas and black and white infrared pictures in darkened areas. Easy non-technical set-up anyone can do themselves without professional help. Would highly recommend this product to anyone considering a security camera system.
