I highly recommend this trash can. Simple human sells quality equipment and this piece is no exception. My only complaints are 1) please include complimentary set of batteries. While I realize batteries aren't cheap, it really sucks to get a new toy and then not have batteries to try it out right away! 2) I'd love a way to adjust the sensitivity of the of the sensor. I have my trash can at the end of the island in my kitchen and 9 out of 10 times I walk by it opens. Having said that I love the way it will stay open if I remain near by as in throwing out mail or other things that may take a few minutes to complete. Also, this can holds a very nice size trash bag but doesn't really "look" that big.

Love it, but the lid doesn't always work. Sometimes, it opens really slowly. Other times, it only opens up less than halfway. Sometimes, it stays open just a hair. I read that it takes a little while for the motor to warm up, and that's what I'm hoping it is. But other than that, love it.

Great concept, not so great execution.

It was a good theory, but it needs a few different settings. I've mastered the art of the sneaky walk-around, but when my boyfriend comes over he calls it the "Demon Trash Can." Also, if you're putting a bunch of things into the bin and you so happen to tap the lid when it's opening, it will repeatedly open and close itself, finally settling on about an inch opening. You then have to set off the censor repeatedly to have it close correctly. I love the concept, but the execution seems more in the beta-testing phase...

Thank you for your feedback. We are so sorry to hear this. It sounds like something may be blocking the sensor. Wiping the sensor window with rubbing alcohol and a cleaning cloth will usually solve this issue. A customer support representative has reached out to you to provide further assistance.
