Purchased this item to melt and keep butter warm for a seafood boil. Very easy to dip boiling water out of the boiler and melt/warm 3 packages of cold butter up to 130 degrees. No fuel, flame, or power required!!

This 3-piece double boiler set is very well made and fits together perfectly. Haven't used yet but all pans from the French Classic series have all worked well for me.

While I like the heavy duty construction, which means the double boiler will last a long time and cook at even temperatures, and the fact the handles don't get hot, the sauce pan has two graduations in it that makes it a bit less easy to stir the item you are cooking as the sauces, etc. can get stuck in the graduations; also these graduations make it harder to clean. But I'm still glad to have been able to get this double boiler as they seem to be disappearing from the marketplace.

.Quality pot, hefty weight. Attractive. It’s a bit heavy and awkward to handle. The insert has a rounded bottom that is awkward to set aside and an uneven sides that make it difficult to clean. I replaced a 40 year old Revereware double boiler with this. I much prefer their design however you cannot buy them anymore.

I don’t know why I didn’t buy one of these years ago! It worked great and cleaned up easily after making zabaglione. So much easier than the old bowl over a pot method! Lol
