Not user friendly

I purchase a Pixma printer, what really bother me is I had to load a manual on line. Did it ever occur to companies that some people have medical issues and can't not sit at a computer for long, Here I had to upload the manual to figure out things. Just not good for a person with a disability. I like the printer but really I think you should have put a manual in the box.

This is the third Canon printer I've owned. For some reason they all don't work well. Most recent the MG 5520 I upgraded my router and now the dang thing wont stay connected. Have to delete everything and redownload everything just to print. Will be getting rid of this printer really soon. Owned for 6 months got it brand new.

Love Love LOVE this printer!

I'm in love with this printer! It is larger than my previous all-in-ones, but of greater quality, which shows in everything I print. I did have trouble getting it to connect with my WiFi, but living in this near-border community, such things are a regular occurrence. I just plugged it in and off it went! I have had -0- troubles of any kind! I just finished printing a rather large project involving color printing, and frankly, I was wincing at how much ink I figured it was using. Other brands would be nearly empty, in my mind... But when I checked the ink status, it showed approximately 80% full! I'm overjoyed!

Refuses to accept Avery labels

This prints pretty well for its category. However, I can not get it to accept a sheet of Avery labels. It keeps giving the error "paper is fed to one side" despite adjusting the side tracks to fit the page. I tried trimming one side so it was closer to regular paper size but it still refuses to accept the paper.
It also goes through ink very quickly, even though we mostly use it for text and not graphics.

Wireless Printing a Challenge
on July 20, 2014

Setup was OK, but since then connectivity is spotty. I have to restart my laptop or the printer almost every time I print. We use this strictly wireless from a couple of laptops and an iPad. The iPad worked twice and hasn't been able to find the printer since. The laptops print sometimes, but most of the time we need to restart either the printer or the laptop in order for the page to print. Often, when the one laptop hangs while printing, we have to restart the wireless router to allow the laptop to continue accessing the internet. This only happens when printing hangs. Don't think I'd buy another Canon.
Pros: Compact Design
Cons: Difficult to use, Slow Print Speed, unreliable
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Awful

I have had this printer for 4 weeks. Worked great initially. Now it will not turn off using the power button. Also my IPhone and IPad keep losing it so the reason I bought it (to AirPrint) now doesn't work unless I reboot everything. I had a canon pixma 640 and it was great. Too bad I changed it.
Cons: unreliable
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very Disappointed

I bought this printer to replace an older Canon printer that I was very pleased with. I wish I could say the same for this. The Output Tray cannot handle more than a couple of sheets of paper without them falling off. The first time a printer a multi-page document I was quite surprised to find that the pages weren't collated. I read the manual and have changed the settings to collate the pages, but it only does so randomly.
