I got my Tassimo Home Brewing system a few weeks ago for my birthday! One of the best gifts ever and the price is great! Its convenient to use Discs instead of buying a huge container of coffee that i hardly ever go through. This is a definite money saver! I have made many coffeesand lattes and so far have not had to do the descaling yet. This is low maintainence! LOVE THIS SO MUCH!

I had experienced this product at my sister's house and was surprised at Christmas with her gift to me. When I traveled my husband and I always purchased the expensive gourmet coffees and teas at the airport while waiting for our plane. It was an indulgence that I can now enjoy everyday at home. I am not often surprised, but I was so excited I could hardly contain myself. Lattes are my favorite and this brewer is better than the airport gourmet cup. You would have to fight me to "try" and take away my machine! :)

We LOVE our T20 Bosch Tassimo!

My husband is from Germany, and it didn't take long to realize that to get coffee brands and beverages from "home" (such as Jacob's, Milka, Nabob etc.), as well as the brewer (Bosch) then one had to go with a Tassimo. Tassimo is by a large international company, Kraft Foods, while the other cup brewer is a monopoly from a USA coffee manufacturer, but that was secondary in our decision. So far, this little Bosch machine) has worked very well and has a small footprint on our limited counter space. It's a solid, well-made machine. Very sophisticated - has a bar code reader that reads the encoded discs and then engages programmed brewing automatically. Hit the button and "go". There is no reason to have a "wake up timer" on any of these brewers because your drink WILL be ready in about a minute. So why spend a lot of extra for a "morning wake up timer"?? Clean up is simple. An occasional 5-second wiping of the cup area, nozzle, and the scanner that reads the bar codes on the T-discs is all that is needed. This is a pressurized brewer - not a drip brew. Coffees, espressos, lattes, and cappuccinos are delicious and consistent! There is real milk/foamer in the T-discs (not powdered) that does not need refrigerated. It also makes a variety of hot teas AND hot chocolates. We like the Maxwell House Caramel Latte Machiotto better than the Gevalia version, because there is a slightly more noticeable coffee taste, AND it's cheaper. The Maxwell House blends are good, but of course the German in our family LOVES the European brands available for this machine, and showing it off to his coffee klatch. It's a pain that the T-discs are virtually no longer available retail (except for Maxwell House at Walmart) BUT Tassimo HAS set up auto delivery in a highly flexible, affordable way. If you order $30 worth of coffee at a time, shipping is free, and you have full availability of all international flavors and selections. There is a learning curve, trying to determine how much you will use in what time frame, but you can go online and adjust your shipment time and selections at any time. I receive my shipments within two days. Periodically Tassimo makes a very attractive offer to customers to join the mail order club. For instance, I held out for 3 months before joining auto delivery, and eventually got a T-disc rack ($30 for something similar at dept. store) 2 packs of coffee (@$18 value) plus a box of cleaner (to periodically clean and descale) for FREE! The cost of the Maxwell House discs is the same online as it is at Walmart, so with the free shipping, I can get EVERY flavor I want by using auto delivery.
I have one caveat - since Tassimo has a European flare to it, the beverages are more European-sized (smaller) than what the average American is used to (Maxwell House Morning Blend IS 12 oz., however) . . . . . at times certain brands of coffee may be stronger than one is used to (but extra water can be added with push of button) . . . . . and certain beverages (such as Milka hot chocolate) are distinctly international in that they are not nearly as sweet as the way Americans drink THEIR hot cocoa.
Overall, this makes an excellent choice of brewer for anyone who has lived or been stationed in Europe, as well as anyone wanting an excellent variety of international coffees, versus a huge selection of commercialized "cups",

Great White Bot!

This machine is a little shark! It gobbles up the discs and leaves you with great tasting beverages. And it does it by sneaking up on you. I recently upgraded from my original Braun machine because of the amount of mess the t-discs were making in my machine. I really liked my old machine, but I LOVE this one. The speed and quietness in which it makes my beverages is amazing. They are hotter than the original machines and the pods come out clean and completely used. The machine has no drainage like the old one so when you place the taller mugs under the piercing unit with the cup tray removed, you get no mess on the bottom of your cup. I am very satisfied with the flavor of the beverages as well. This machine does a nice job of brewing at the right temperature and flavor. And it does it quietly! It gives you the sense that the right amount of pressure is being used to brew your beverage. It also shoots out a nice amount of steam. You'd think you were at a coffee shop. I also enjoy the fact that you can add some color to the machine. I have 3 of the 4 color kits and it makes the machine look fun. Don't be fooled by the price of this machine. It does an amazing job with a small, stylish footprint on your countertop. It's sharp looking and easy to use. One note, there is no filter. You will need to use filtered water in it, but if you can't it lets you know when you need to descale. It has notification and an automatic cycle for it. You will find the machine is the cheapest in the lineup, and also the cheapest to operate. Enjoy!

Easy To Use, But lacking!

Got this machine for Christmas in 2010. Couldn't wait to use it. Easiest machine ever to operate, and fast. Who wouldn't like a fresh cup of coffee in the morning without all the prep and mess? First month I used it, it was awesome. Coffee tasted great! Loved it! After about two months use however, the coffee started tasting horrible to the point of being not paletable. Tasted bad, and too much of a plastic residual after taste. Tried a new batch of T discs, same result. Tried the orange pekoe tea, same thing. Tried the hot chocolate.... what? Yeeeeech! I gave it the proper recommended cleaning and even filtered the water first. No good.
My thoughts? I think any part(s) in contact with the water should be stainless steel and not plastic. The plastic destroyed the flavor. I'd pay $50 more for this unit again if the water delivery and spout were stainless instead of plastic.
Oh well, I should have learned from other coffee makers I had in the past that were plastic. Always tasted horrible.
This unit sits on my counter now, and I haven't used it in almost a year. Nice try though. The search for the perfect cup of coffee continues!

Good machine but limited option

I've had this machine for about 6 months now. The refill selctions are very limited since Kraft took over. You can only get the refills from very few places but most likely will only have 1-2 boxes of Maxwell brand. They took away major coffe companies such as Starbucks and Settle's Best. Also, tassimodirect.com shipping takes forever. I would not recommend the machine until they bring back more varieties. What a waste of such good machine.

LOVE MY BREWER!

I'm not going to lie, I was skeptical when I first ordered my Tassimo, because I read some negative reviews on the brewer and the T-Discs. However, I chose it over the Keurig because of it's variety in types of drinks it can make. I am VERY pleased to say that I LOVE LOVE LOVE my brewer. It's easy to use, super quick, so far I have had no complaints about any of the beverages and I've tried quite a few of them now (mostly the more mild to medium roasts). After I using my T20 for about a month, I stayed with my cousin who has a Keurig, and I was so incredibly glad I made this choice. The T20 is just so much easier to use, quicker, and much more quiet (which is important at 5am). The only thing that I do wish is that they would make some soy substitutes for the lattes and cappuccinos, just because most of my friends are lactose intolerant.

Worth the wait!

I have had or used every major brand of single serve coffeemaker around - you know the names. For some reason I had never owned a Tassimo. Now I know what I was missing! Instead of having coffee I was constantly trying to "doctor up" since the actual coffee tasted burned, every time I make a cup I drink every drop. And with one brand, in order to fill my travel mug I had to brew 2 pods to get a full serving. Not with Tassimo; making a larger serving does not create a watery drink. It's true - Tassimo has it all. There may not be the selection of mediocre beverages that the 'other' brand has; the difference is that each and every one with Tassimo tastes great. Not just good, great! The ability to make drinks that I used to have to buy in coffee shops or restaurants at home is priceless. I give this my highest review - if you love coffee, you'll love Tassimo :-)
