Down the steps with Rumba 630

66 year old single man with two long haired black retrievers. It works great!!! So why "down the stairs" as my heading? Picture this; standing at the top of stairs holding rumba with one hand. Hand slips. OOPS!! Rumba rolls down (full flight) steps on edge, bouncing 3 or 4 times and finally bouncing off brick fireplace. I expected to be picking up pieces for the next week, but it didn't smash-no breakage at all-I pushed the start button and it started up and has been running fine for the past 9 months. I will buy another one when/if this fails.
Pros: Easy To Use, Efficient

I bought it for my wife last christmas, and We love how well it cleans our dark hardwood floors and area carpets, as well as under the bedroom bed and dressers, and always finds it way back to the charger, no matter how far away it is! We are going to buy a second one for the other end of the house.

We love our one-year old springer spaniel, but as she grew so did the drifts of dog hair around the house. Roomba not only keeps up with her shedding, but reaches places where our regular vacuuming completely missed (under the bed, under the dresser, etc.). While not exactly best friends, Roomba and the dog don't seem to mind each other...occassionally they can be found quietly slow-motion stalking each other. Roomba does an equally nice job on our carpets and hardwood floors. Yes, the bin is a little on the small side and fills up quickly. However, we've taken to simply pausing Roomba (by hitting the clean button once), emptying the bin (which takes, literally, five seconds), replacing the bin and sending Roomba on its way to finish the job (just hit the clean button again). Clean up time after a full clean cycle is about 1-3 minutes depending on how much dirt and hair the machine picked up.
Pros: Cleans Effectively, Cleans Under Furniture, Dog Friendly, Easy To Use, Hassle Free Operation, Long Run Time
Cons: Small Debris Bin

LOVE our Roomba - Alice...

We love our Alice! She is our little maid who works when we are out of the house. The floor is always "mop ready". We use her on travertine/stone, hardwood floors, and carpet. She does great with all the different flooring types. She is easy to operate, clean, and schedule. Occasionally we loose her and have an "Alice Hunt" and usually find her stuck underneath something, but she is wonderful to have. One of my most favorite Christmas gifts ever!

The Best Little Buddy

My little Roomba is the best - I used to go insane having a dog and 3 cats (all long hair) and I am a clean freak! Vacuuming once per day took up at least an hour of my time that I didn't have. Now, I get up go start my coffee, wake up Roomba, and go on with my day while he cleans! LOVE the little guy! I am moving into a bigger apartment with carpets in the bedroom, so I am curious to see if he still holds my heart in cleaning those!

What's not to love?

I ordered a Roomba as a Christmas present for myself, because I hate the cleaning chores and my husband and teenage son only help with the dirty-making, not much with the clean-keeping. We have bamboo wood, linoleum, and carpet-Marvin cleans it all, weather it's dirt carried in with the shoes, dog hair, or the feathers from the parakeets that get into every corner. I don't mind the noise, I use it while I do other tasks around the house. I don't get rid of my old vacuum yet, because while Marvin does a surprisingly good job with edges, it can't get into tricky corners. I put up chairs and occasionally move various pieces of furniture if I want it to clean the places it can't normally reach. The first day after a thorough cleaning I waxed my bamboo wood floor. Now it looks all shiny, because Marvin's little brush massaged the wax in during the following go around. It stops at my stairs and calls to be moved to a different location (yes, it can talk!), so if I wanted to leave the house while it cleans I would have to try the included laser wall. I left a Christmas ornament on the floor and Marvin managed to push it down the stairs and break it, but I think that was my fault. It does freak out my pets! My dog wants outside every time the robot comes to life and my birds flutter around in panic if in the same room. Overall, I am thrilled. I like a clean house but I work full time and don't want to start cleaning when I get home. Now, the dirt does not accumulate over the week. Daily maintenance of the robot seems minimal (empty bin and remove hair from brushes). I have been raving about this new addition to my family!

I've owned my Roomba for about 2 months now and I love it! Vacuuming was killing my back and the cat hair was piling up but now my house is always clean. At first I had to run the Roomba every day, one room at a time, to get everything really clean, but now every other day, I just let it go through the whole house (I live on one floor) and it is keeping up with the dirt and cat hair. I have wood with area rugs, tile and vinyl and it does a good job on all. Doesn't catch on the fringe on the area rugs and does far better than expected in the corners. It's a little louder than I expected, but not awful. I am so glad I bought my Roomba!

LOVE IT!!

Since I used these reviews to decide if I wanted one and to see what others had to say about them, it is only fair that I do a review after I purchased one. In short, OMG! This little guy really works. We have combination hardwood, slate tiles and some carpeting and he does a great job on them all. He gets everywhere, too. Under the bed, under the coffee table, close up to the skirting boards and even around chair legs. And he does not leave much behind- he is very determined and thorough!! We have 2 cats and a dog and the hair he picks up is mind boggling. He seems to move around in this weird haphazzard fashion, but gee, leave him go for a few hours and your floors are super clean and the pet hair and dirt is jam packed into his bin. I have to admit that for the first few days I just followed him around, as it is pretty fascinating watching this little thing race around your house cleaning your floors. That is why we called him Coolio, as we kept saying - Look at that, look how clean it all is, this is so coolio!!" Maintenance is very easy and we use the little tower to tell him to stay in one part of the house. I set him an area in the morning and come home to beautifully clean floors in the afternoon. Brilliant!! We are very, very happy.
