Only get sound from BluRays???

For the two days that I had the product I only had one problem with it. I played a movie for about a half hour and the speakers went out on it. I read other reviews and people have said the same thing. Someone also mentioned that they only got sound from BluRays. This is big problem for me since I only have DVDs.
Pros: nice setup for my dorm room
Cons: speakers went out
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My review is going to be similar to another on here. I had such high expectations for this system but was severely disappointed. The biggest glaring design flaw is that there is no hdmi in or a fiber optic in. I mean come on my 7 year old yamaha receiver had this, not exactly new technology. What does that mean? don't expect to hook up a ps3 or much else for that matter, other than perhaps the audio from your digital cable box. In that regard you can't really even call this a home theater system. It's more like a blue ray player with 5 speakers.

Got this for Christmas and 100% Disappointed. If you want to hook up multiple devices, sorry this is not for you. Only one HDMI OUT no HDMI in? really, on a device this new, the only IN is for digital audio or Auxiliary Audio (or aux in front for mp3 player) Seriously? If all you want is a blu ray player with surround sound and a way to play music in surround sound, then its good in that regard. Honestly I think my 1987 dual cassette player with record turn table has better sound quality, sure its not surround but at least it works. If you have a large room, this won't be for you either, because the cable are a little short, and due to their design, unless you know electrical enough to solder in a longer wire, there is no way to make the wires longer. If you have a big room, save up and go wireless.
Pros: simple to set up, nicely packaged
Cons: slow menu, no where near enough inputs of any type whatsoever, needs longer wires for speakers

Cant browse all Netflix & Can't get tv sound into the speakers

As others have said here, Netflix will only let me browse through my Que and not all of netflix. Also I can only hear sound that comes in through the internet or disk. I can not get sound in from the tv to the speakers. The menu choice that the instructions tell me to use is grayes out. I am connecting to an old non hd tv for now through the rca jacks, no HDMI Short hard wired wires. Taking it back I think.
Pros: looks good, easy set up if you have hdmi (i'm sure)
Cons: lack of netflix functionality, short speaker wires, getting sound to surround
the only thing I am disappointed is the Blockbuster doesn't work.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Netflix is incomplete- not well described in advertising
on April 10, 2013

A simple firmware update would or should address a primary concern- which is that this device is advertised as being a Netflix box, yet only the instant queue works. This means if you want to look up a movie to watch on Netflix, you must first add the movie to the queue from another connected device. Firmware updates have not addressed the issue. Overall it makes the product's useability for Netflix streaming very limited indeed.
The audio performance is decent for the price.
Pros: cheap
Cons: netflix compatibility is falsely advertised
