A dryer that doesn't need minding

After several years of an aging dryer that didn't know when to stop drying, it has been a real relief to work with a smarter appliance. It is no longer necessary to be there immediately after a load finishes to be guaranteed the no-iron features of our garments. Clothes do not get "crispy" and overheated when the setting appropriate for the fabric is readily available. Occasionally, on a large load, one or two things that are heavier need a bit more drying; but, generally, clothes come out looking perfect. I would readily recommend this product, and the "melody" on finishing is a nice touch!
I did some online research before purchasing and LG dryers came out quite well in their reviews. Having others' opinions available was very helpful.

noisey at start

This dryer, according to LG Customer Service should make noise when it starts and does go away after a little while. However, if I knew before I purchased this unit that it would make a thumping noise I probably would not have purchased it. I've had two reveiws already rejected by LG since I mentioned this noise, so I am not expecting this one to go through either. Guess they only publish positive reviews. Otherwise it works like advertised, although the sensed drying stops when the clothes are a little damp, just set for more dry and it works fine.
Pros: easy to use, Features/Settings

We bought a Maytag washer dryer and found it to be so noisy we returned it after 1 day. The LG washer is almost silent in operation and the matching dryer is equally quiet.
This is the best ever and the price could not be beat.

Short lived love affair

Up until 3 weeks ago I loved this dryer ...Then something in the control board has malfunctioned and it only works sporadically.Dryer is only 3 years old(my last kenmore was15 years old and still working)had a service tech look at it and he thinks the panel is gone.Probably have to buy another dryer..It WON'T be a LG

I feel like I bought a Lemon

Only 1 and a half years after purchasing, this dryer stopped heating! After many attempts to find out the problem, finally determined that it was the thermostat so we replaced it. also, the "smart diagnostics" was not helpful and couldn't figure out what was wrong so they just said it wasn't venting, which it was.so, then it worked great for 9 more months and did the same thing and replaced the thermostat and it was great. Now, 3 weeks later its at it again and I am over it and am never purchasing another LG product again!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thumping noise

Dryer works well, looks good and does a good job of drying large loads quickly. However it makes a loud thumping noise when you first start it. We actually exchanged the first one we purchased thinking there was something wrong with it and now the second one makes more noise than the first one.

This dryer was bought to accompany the matching washer (which I love!) but it is amazing! It performs beautifully. The moisture sensor is really a nice feature. My clothes were dried faster and more efficiently than with my traditional dryer. It is also quite a bit larger than my old style dryer and I really am impressed with it's performance. I would recommend this dryer quite highly.
