Cuisinart says, ‘Savor the Good Life,’ and that’s what it is when you can make ice cream and gelato at home. I made the Strawberry ice cream to break the machine in. Wow, the family was thrilled with the results. Everyone commented on how good it tasted. Since, I’ve made vanilla, chocolate and peanut butter cup. All delicious. I’m making lemon gelato as I write this review. It’s more of a process to make gelato, but just enjoy the process and look forward to the results. The appliance itself is built like a tank. It has a 3 year warranty which is outstanding. It’s a simple design and not complicated with unnecessary features.
I purchased this for my tiny cafe, it's a nice heavy machine. Looks great, can make great Ice cream/sorbet..the problem is, the motor is not terribly strong, the lid is easily un-locked, the machine gets super cold and locks up.. It works, I'm happy that I got it..just expected a much much more powerful machine.
Have made strawberry ice cream in it so far and it was super easy!!! The ice cream was delicious and I was able to make 2 batches back to back without any problems from the machine.
I have had several types of ice cream makers from attachments to free standing separate appliances. I found that I never used them as they all needed to have the required bowl frozen in advance and, as I did not have room to keep the bowl in my freezer, the required hours then needed to freeze the bowl made me drop the idea of making ice cream. With the inclusion of the compressor feature in the Cuisinart unit, no pre-freeze is needed, and making ice cream and other frozen treats is now something I can do whenever I want. The machine is relatively quiet and simple to use and it makes fantastic frozen desserts. What I like best is that I can determine exactly what is put into the mix and avoid either preservatives or artificial additives as well as choose to make a non-dairy or non-egg type of frozen dessert. All of the recipes I have come out quite well in this machine. Overall, a real winner!
I love my Cuasinart ice cream maker the only issue is trying to get a replacement bucket or extra buckets so I can make several different flavors one right after the other. When you wash the bucket it has to dry out completely so it doesn't make the ice cream stick to the sides it would also be great if you could make one that has a more none stick sides and bottom somehow to make getting ice cream out easier. Thanks.
