This is the best!!! Made simple vanilla and perfect! Made strawberry and great flavor but juice in strawberries made strawberry pieces icey. I may try freeze dried next time or add sugar to berries to pull out water. Next I made rocky road. Perfect and delicious! I found that the timer is 60 min. When I turn it on I let it start with empty container so it get nice and cold. Then there will be 45 min on timer left. Most ice cream only needs maybe 20 to 40 min to churn. You can tell because it starts growing and pulling away from sides. Love this machine!

This machine is so handy to have around. When I make pie or cake, I make Ice cream to go with it. this makes it quick and simple. Most often I make a custard (In the vitamix which cooks the custard in about 5 minutes) and cool the custard, then into the machine. No prefreezing because it has it's own refrigerant system. It is expensive and I doubt I have made enough Ice Cream to make it cheaper, but I know that Ice cream, nearly on demand, and of the quality I want, is worth the price. And the recipe is what I make, without worrying about someone else's kitchen habits or quality of ingredients

Makes fabulous ice cream. I've been sharing with family and neighbors. The only advice I have for those making this purchase, be sure to have spatulas of various sizes so you can remove the ice cream from the crevices in the paddle. There are several crevices and of different sizes. None of the how to videos show the part of removing the paddle. It will have a lot of ice cream stuck in those crevices. Also, do not fill the mixture to the top as it expands as it goes through the mixing, chilling process. Leave at least 2 inches for expansion. Tis better to run the second batch than have ice cream oozing out the top.. I have made coffee, butter pecan, mango, vanilla with mint chips and I highly recommend this unit and look forward to making many more flavors. Love this machine.

I have coveted this machine for years. When it hit my price point I made the purchase and it’s every bit as wonderful as I had hoped. I’m a household of one and I can have luscious ice cream frozen in 20 minutes when I fill 1/3 full. Large batches deliver soft serve in 60 minutes. Operation is straightforward. Clean up is easy unless you overfill. Negatives include noise level is really high reminding me of the old electric models used with ice and salt (I tune it out as I know I’ll have homemade ice cream shortly), it’s heavy, and it’s large. For easily making ice cream it’s an excellent product - no ice needed, no salt, no remembering to put a canister in the freezer, and no pre-chilling the mixture needed. Overall I give it 4 stars as it does exactly what it’s supposed to do very well. Noise control is an opportunity for future product improvement.

Very easy to use and makes good gelato, but I have a couple of complaints. First, the lid is a bit flimsy. The flap to add ingredients has already fallen off a few times due to the ice cream being pushed up against it and popping it off. My other complaint is that it says it's for 1.5 quart, and it also says not to fill the canister above the top rung of the paddle. But the first few times when I poured in only a quart of gelato mix, it went over this top rung. Since the directions say not to fill past that point, I don't know how this would make 1.5 quarts when 1 quart does not fit. I have to make the gelato in pint batches, which is a pain. Also, most recipes call for churning for 30 minutes, but as mentioned before, with this machine the gelato starts bunching up to one side of the paddle and pushes up against the lid after only 20 minutes.

Did some research, read many reviews. Reviews can be very misleading. I only read the bad reviews and try to figure if they are r3al problems or just someone that does not follow the instructions. To date I have made about 20 loads of ice cream. I use the strawberry recipe. Just modify what fruit I want to put in. I have never been disappointed. Cherry, strawberry, chocolate chip, pineapple/coconut, Oh and vanilla have all come out excellent. Would I recommend? Yes I would but first read as much as you can get your hands on about ice cream freezers. The only thing I would wish for is this one but a little more capacity.
