Making ice cream almost everyday. Recipe book base is five star, just be fun and creative with your favorite flavors. Machine is quality and I have made 3 different flavors back to back. This is an ice compressor ice cream maker. What a summer treat!

I would give this machine a 5 if it wasn't so hard to get the device really clean. Having only used it 4x, I am still in the learning mode. My "learnings" so far... (1) follow the instructions and don't put more than 4 cups (1QT) of base in the machine, even less if you are adding in chips, nuts, etc. It'll overflow as it freezes and is a real mess to clean up. A small spray bottle with water can be used to "wash" away any ice cream that has made its way into the crevices around rim of the freezer compartment. Most online recipes seem to be for 2 QTS, so just make 2 batches or scale back the recipe. (2) Add any mix-ins before the ice cream gets too hard. It should be "rolling" in the machine. It if it too hard, the mix-ins just sit on the surface. (3) Find the sweet spot where the ice cream is frozen enough to not melt before you are done transferring it to your freezer container but not so hard that it is difficult to get off the dasher. Trial and error the only to do this.

Did some research, read many reviews. Reviews can be very misleading. I only read the bad reviews and try to figure if they are r3al problems or just someone that does not follow the instructions.
To date I have made about 20 loads of ice cream. I use the strawberry recipe. Just modify what fruit I want to put in. I have never been disappointed. Cherry, strawberry, chocolate chip, pineapple/coconut, Oh and vanilla have all come out excellent. Would I recommend? Yes I would but first read as much as you can get your hands on about ice cream freezers. The only thing I would wish for is this one but a little more capacity.

I wasn't aware that ice cream makers had come so far since the old hand crank rock salt variety! I started researching the ones where you have to freeze the bowl, but my freezer space is limited, then i found this one. It's more pricey then the frozen bowl ones, but I can make one batch right after another with no waiting. Some people complained about how hard it is to clean off the ice cream spills over. You just need to follow the instructions and don't overfill it. I take the bucket out of the machine to fill it so i don't spill, and keep an eye on it while it's churning. If it starts to come up too high that's a good indication that it's done.
I love that it has 2 different paddles, for both ice cream and gelato. I've made both and they've come out great! I started with a simple recipe that came with the instruction book, and have made several batches from recipes I've found online. The machine is bigger and heavier than I expected, but I have room for it on my kitchen cart. I highly recommend this product!

If you, like me, love ice cream but can’t sacrifice half of your freezer to freeze a drum, this ice cream maker will change your life. I’ve made 6 kinds of ice cream and sorbet in the 5 weeks since I got this, two of which I spun on the same day!! Super easy to use, fast to chill, perfect for if you want to make ice cream on a whim. I love this machine!!
