I bought this unit to replace an old similar ice cream maker with built-in freezer made by another company. This Cuisinart ICE-100 is superior in every way, the processing container lifts out easily to remove the completed ice cream or gelato, and has different processing blades for both which means they process them quickly and efficiently. It is much quieter than my older model and it is easier to set up and clean. The first batch I made was Carrie Brown's low carb double chocolate hazelnut ice cream and it was so incredibly good, next we made low carb butter pecan, and after that pistachio. They all were superb, better than any low carb ice cream on the market. We are loving it! Highly recommended!

This product performs exactly as advertised. I love not having to freeze the bowl ahead of time. The convenience is worth price difference. The setup and operation is 2 button push simple. The ice cream is fantastic!

i have yet to make Gelato yet since I can't seem to find liquid pectin, however, the ice creams I've made all have been excellant and the ease of use of the machine is great. I had a previous Cuisinart maker that required the bowl to be frozen overnight and it too was easy but the convenience of having a compressor is worth the money.

This ice cream maker has become my favorite appliance. I have one huge complaint in that I can't possibly eat all the ice cream I've made. It's so easy, and the ice cream is amazing. Once you get the custard ice cream base down to a science, it's a simple matter of flavoring the ice cream any way you can imagine, adding everything from fruits, nuts, cookies, or any add ins you can think up.
I wash the parts by hand and they remain like new. My suggestion is to make smaller batches one after another rather than overloading the machine. I don't fill it more than half way, and it never reaches the lid. This keeps clean up a breeze.
Having the compressor onboard makes all the difference, and is well worth the price tag. No waiting for bowls to freeze overnight. If you have chilled base ready, you can make ice cream continuously, and I have. The ice cream is also only as good as the ingredients. I tried one batch without using a custard base(egg yolks), , and it seemed to be more icy than creamy. Never again. Making the base with egg yolks is the way to go.
The machine is excellent. I recommend it highly, in case that didn't come across before.

I got this at Christmas - and have tried a few variations from the book - I love the idea of homemade - creamy texture that freezes well - need to start giving away now rather than eating all!!
