I read about this machine in a blog by a fairly famous ice cream maker/pastry chef. I hemmed and hawed for a while, having had less than stellar experiences with the hassle of homemade ice cream in the past. I finally pulled the trigger and I must say I am delighted. I can hear it working away right now in my laundry room, making my 4th batch of ice cream. The ease of use is mind-blowing. I have not felt the need to advance beyond the basic vanilla recipe in the product instruction manual (despite purchasing a book of ice cream and sorbet recipes, which is still unopened). The only quibble I have is that it is messy and fussy to remove the ice cream when it is ready (cue violins). I am very happy with this product, Cuisinart!

Machine works OK, BUT the recipes have issues. If you follow them and don't know to NOT fill above the instructed paddle area the ice cream overflows -- a lot
The recipes advise mixing the ingredients and then chilling for 2 hours or overnight. Thought this unit was mix, pour and press button, no pre chilling

I'm learning to make gelato. I think it would help if the machine had a slower setting for gelato, in addition to the special gelato paddle.

Works great but it's HUGE and HEAVY! I didn't want to have to keep an ice cream maker liner in my freezer since I have limited freezer space....but this thing is so big! Not sure I would have sprung for the more expensive model if I'd have realized how big it is lol. But it works as advertised and it's my fault for not reading dimensions!

I got this machine for my birthday. I am a complete novice at owning an ice cream machine. This machine makes the best and creamiest ice cream I have ever tasted and it's fresher than what you buy in the store. I would recommend this machine to anyone that wants amazing ice cream. it is super simple to use and clean up.

It's a great machine and easy to be operated. Only thing that took one star out is the icy liquids gets overflow and reached the top of cap. Very messy in the end of processing.
