Really good tv

The tv is honestly brilliant! It does a great job (for a 55") of upscaling standard definition tv and youtube clips, which was an important factor in my decision to purchase. Blu rays, netflix and hd content looks stunning. The contrast is really striking, there's hardly any motion blur at all (sports look brilliant) and the colour and contrast is really impressive. Not sure about sound as I've run it through surround speakers from day one. Only downside is this tv does't come with 3D glasses so you have to buy them seperately - I haven't tried this feature yet.
Pros: Ease of Use, Quality, Features, Design

Great picture, clunky operating system

I bought this 4 months ago. all is good EXCEPT when it comes to displaying and reading the videos stored on my external hard drive.
The 'TV' can't read more than 2 levels (e.g. it can't 'see a folder filed within a folder), BASIC stuff. I have videos filed in folders according to the category, inside these folders, the videos are filed title folders all very easy to see and find on my computer, very easy to find and access on my Sony BRAVIA KDL-42W800A.
Not so on this TV. All my files are all over the place, when I add a new video, I have to re-start the TV, in order to find and watch it, sometimes, it can take up to an hour before the TV can even 'see' the new file. So very clunky, slow and so very tedious. So ridiculous in 2016.
I don't understand why SONY moved to a new operating system that is nowhere near as efficient, or user friendly as the previous system. This is definitely NOT an upgrade.
