I forgot how wonderful it was to cook with gas

Apartmemt living has its advantages and disadvantages. However, when I bought my first home, I was terrified because for years I'd become used to cooking with electric. My 7-Up pound cakes were beautiful. I decided to make one in my new home but realized I had to adjust my way of cooking. Trust me, everyone raved about my cake but would it be the same with gas. To my surprise, it was beautiful and moist and golden brown. I love my gas range. Now, I have to find the microwave that goes with it and my sons will be happy as well. Good job G.E

Decent range oven

I cook every day, and use this range almost every day, whether the oven or the burners or both. This was installed in our kitchen when we purchased our house. Not my first choice but it has served us well. It is a decent, emphasize decent, oven. It is very easy to clean by hand, that is a plus, though I have not and will not use the self cleaning option for the interior, so I cannot comment on that. The burners are adequate - I use copper cookware so the size of burners does not matter as much to me, nor do I need to power-boil huge pots or water.
My biggest complaint is that the displayed oven temperature never matches the actual temperature on the thermometer I placed inside the oven. I have to add about 40 degrees to get the oven up to the proper temperature - for example I have to set it to 390 to have the actual temperature be at 350. Once you learn the temperature differences it is just fine, emphasize fine, as far as the baking performance. I have not had any issues with this oven other than adjusting to it's personality, no issues with it not working. It's a simple range that I can use reliably every day and get the job done, and clean up easily, so I would consider it great for what it is - a cheap range the contractor picked out for our generic no-frills kitchen (a lot of homes are being cheaply rehabbed in our area with very basic kitchens). Maybe one day I will be able to afford a range from the café line, or some other higher end range, but this will do just fine until I can upgrade!

Just an ok stainless gas stove

This stove was included in our new home purchase, it is a low end gas range, it works ok but has cheaper features, plastic knobs and very basic features. It gets the job done, if I could have upgraded it I certainly would have.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
