I was moving so I needed to keep my budget really tight. This Oven is not as expensive as others, but do the job really well...

Classic value oriented gas range, now updated.

While at first this may look like the typical "budget" gas range, GE has stepped up it's game with some nice additions to the digital oven controls which completely eliminate both the standard oven "dial" and the guesswork as to oven temperature. Simply press the temperature you want, press start, and the digital readout tells you when the preheat is complete and the oven is ready to cook. Of course, it has the requisite broiler drawer and auto controls. The range top is your standard 2 medium, 1 small, 1 jumbo burner arrangement, and the burners light immediately and provide all the necessary heat for cooks on a tight budget. The black enameled grates and burner caps make it easy to clean up any boil overs or spills and will look good for years. However, the addition of some drip pans would have been nice. Another solid performer from GE.

I just brought this stove and one of the thing I love the most is its simplicity. The oven controls are electronic, but are very simple to use.

Very quick to heat

I love how quickly the oven heats up. I definitely prefer a gas cooktop for the same reason. I like that the controls are on the front so that I don't have to reach across a flame to turn off the cooktop. I would be concerned if I had small children around, as it is very easy to turn on the gas if the knobs are bumped. Also, the cooktop gets quite hot in the center when the oven is on. I am still pleased with my purchase and like the performance and appearance of the range.
