My Windows phone 8.1 review

My background. I'm a c#, PHP and Java developer. My primary desktop OS's are Windows Server 2008, and Windows 8.1 with the Start 8 button from Star Dock (hint) and Opensuse Linux. After 3 years of Android,I decided to move to Windows Phone 1020, then a 1520. Windows Phone 8.1 is the most stable mobile OS have used, far more stable than Android. The battery life is incredible on my 1520 as well. Here's what's missing:
Opening and saving non-image email attachments. I was surprised that I couldn't open or save a PDF or Word document from an email attachment with WP. I believe Microsoft should be setting the bar on this type of functionality, not playing catch up.
One of the things about Linux and Android is its flexibility with the desktop. WP really doesn't offer much desktop flexibility. Some nice enhancements to WP 8.1 are folders and transparent tiles. This really makes the phone stand out. Very nice touch! I'm using the developer preview and look forward to the updates. More often than not, the updates come with more features to try out.

I have been a big fan of this phone since I started using it this beast has everything to offer.. Especially I love display and Dolby surround sound features in this phone which makes watching movies memorable you feel like you are watching movie in theatre.. An 20 megapixel camera is a superb captures outstanding pictures I strongly recommend this phone to everyone it has every thing to give you no matter how much you desire.. Love ❤ 1520

love my 1520 it offers great performance and the size is awesome. the app store does need some more apps. Also, you need some new premium phones, instead of all the low cost ones.

My 1520 has Great Battery Life and also it has THE best display for a smartphone!

I use it daily for gaming, music and messaging and still I'm able to get at least (minimum) 1 or 1 1/2 day with full charge, else I get 3 or 4 days (Maximum). I'm really satisfied with apps I find on the store! In a WORD, this phone is really awesome. You can say this is a future proof phone ,cuz even though 1520 is 1 year older than iPhone 6 and 6+ their specs don't even come closer to Lumia 1520 and its technology! And also this device is very strong not like bendy iPhone.

My first smartphone

I love this phone. I got the phone about 3 days after it was released last November. It provides me everything I need when I'm away from my computer. I have a 64 GB microSD card inside to hold all the files I need when I cannot use my data connection and, when I do have access to data, the OneDrive provides me with everything else. The size of the phone only seemed awkward for the first week. Getting a headset would also help. Now I have the phone that feels like it has the power of the tablet and has a battery capable of outlasting both.

Best Phone of 2013/2014

This phone was amazing from the get go. As soon as you see the start up splash in 1080p, your heart drops. Brightest 1080p display with the best viewing angle. Amazing camera only bested by Lumia 1020. Ease of use. As simple or complicated as you want it. Built in apps perform flawlessly. App store is always improving and is there for everyday users. Overall best phone I've owned.
