Nah, does not play well with others

Across device logon and password change failures, tiles are cumbersome once you put them in place. Ugly interface. Live tiles are a waste of time, energy. "Let's build a huge phone and cover it with 1"x1" squares, or 4-1/4" squares to make a 1" square." Icons or text are superior.
No stylus. No place to store one. It is easier when one is used.
Not sure why, but it's OS, interface, size, or lack of playing well with others, is aggravating to the point of anger. I have walked away from this phone for days and never missed it. If I reached and it wasn't there, my thoughts were, oh yeah, I tossed it across the room. Eh.
I'm in the US and of course our backwards approach to free market means I'm stuck with this or must go to an inferior network to unload it. So, a grand from now, I'll be free. Until then, I'm on bail.
If I may, stay with the companies and software that built the smartphone environment. Now that Windows owns Nokia especially. I'd rather have a flip phone with a flash. This Windows line of phones is to obviously tied to their PC OS.
Pros: Personal, Business, for tossing into the garbage

phone is not useful at all! in my opinion it is a hunk of junk and i wish we would have never wasted our money on this stupid thing! no good apps, everything on the phone is all backwards! however if your not into apps or anything of that matter then it does have a great camera and the sound quality is alright.

This phone stinks because it's not available through Verizon

This phone looks fantastic. Too bad it's completely unusable since I'm on Verizon. So I don't know anything about it except that it's an AT&T exclusive that I lust after from over at Verizon. My friend has nothing but trouble with AT&T service, so I will not sacrifice reliable service with Verizon to have this beautiful phone ruined by AT&T's inferior services.

The best smartphone/phablet I have ever owned. Very responsive and agile. It takes my 128GB micro SD card and allows me to download tones of apps without any lag. Who needs a tablet when you can own the ultimate phablet. I REALLY like this device.

Love This Phone!

I wanted to come on here and add to the reviews, lol with all the buzz around the iPhone 6 now. I have had my Lumia 1520 since last December and I absolutely love it! I loved it before the recent Windows Phone 8.1 upgrade and now, after that, I love it waaay more! The upgrade happened right around my birthday too so that seemed like Microsoft's birthday present to me - almost like a new phone but within the same hardware. Upgraded interface!
On to the review - I'm not much of a techie so I'm not going to list a review of every feature. Of course the camera is great and really everything else. I will go through some things I really love about it. Cortana is really awesome. I don't think it is operating yet at full capacity- meaning I don't think I've untapped all of its capabilities yet, but it is really cool. It doesn't talk to me as much as I would like but that's probably because I don't really talk to it - I still feel a little weird talking to my phone! I didn't go through the whole Siri thing, as I never liked the iPhone interface. Back to the phone & Cortana: I love the daily snapshot it gives me - tailored to me from all the things I told it. I love the reminders it gives me - telling me that its time to leave and the traffic, to get to an appointment. Its really helpful. I love the slide down notifications and expanded volume control. I love the new texting style - makes typing a lot of words possible in a really short time! and is so effortless! I love the new update to the already cool live tiles! The transparent background is awesome! I love the new glance screen - the update is just that much cleaner! And of course I've always loved the overall look - both the build of the phone and the interface. I appreciate the interface over a Droid or iphone interface any day, and furthermore don't get how soooo many people aren't turned on to Window Phone's interface instead!
I think Microsoft needs to do better advertising! Maybe stop showing Windows Phones in comparison to Apple. I mean that's great and all - people need to see a comparison but a lot of the earlier ads - that kind of comparison just makes it seem like you're constantly showing Apple as the standard that you're trying to catch up to (standard in popularity of course) but they need to show how Windows Phone stands in its own class!
Lastly I really hope they continue to improve the phone. If they continue to make jumps like they did with this WP8 to WP8.1 - they will be lightyears ahead of the competition!!

This phone is a refreshing change to the smartphone market.

I was reluctant switching from an iPhone to a Windows Phone, but I am very glad that I made the switch. Surprisingly, it turns out that Windows 8 IS good for something- though I hate the OS on my computer, it's very fast, organized, and easy to use on a phone. The battery life is wonderful- constantly using Wi-Fi, streaming music, watching videos, and playing games and the battery wears out MUCH slower than any other phone that I've had. The sound is very good; much louder than the iPhone. The camera's quality is AMAZING, and I love that you have the ability to control ALL settings like you would using a normal digital camera. You also have the option to download different lenses, which gives you endless possibilities when it comes to taking photos. The front facing camera is also very nice; much clearer than any other front facing camera that I've had on a phone. Also, the placement of the capture/camera button is very convenient and you don't have to struggle when taking any sort of photo.
Everything loads extremely fast- whether you are browsing through blogs or streaming a full length movie, I have not had ANY issue or lag. So far NONE of my apps have crashed or closed suddenly. The touch screen is much smoother and more precise. Crystal clear, quality display as well! And believe it or not, the phone is NOT as hard to handle as some may think. I know some people are wary because of how large the phone is-- but it will surprise you! It's easier to handle, especially during phone calls.
Cortana has definitely grown on me, and I actually would give her a higher rating than I would for Siri. Wonderful for voice commands, especially text messaging. One of my favorite things is the fact that she will LEARN to pronounce your name correctly- and coming from someone who has a very odd name, I think it's pretty neat.
Another thing that I absolutely love is the new GPS Apps they put on the phone. You can now use your GPS without using any data- so this is wonderful if you have a fixed data plan, or if you are stranded in the middle of nowhere without service.
A lot of the games go through the Microsoft Studios/Xbox Live site, so whenever you're playing certain games, you actually gain achievement points like you would if you were playing on your Xbox 360. You can even connect your phone to your Xbox Live account.
The only negative thing about this phone is the fact that you can't get all of the apps that you would on another smart phone market. I have not been able to find a lot of the popular apps like "Candy Crush" or "Hay Day" or anything- but I have discovered a lot of new, unique apps.
