Best smart phone I've ever owned.

I picked up this phone just over 2 weeks ago and I'm nothing short of impressed. I've only owned 3 smart phones, all of which were iphones up until my new windows phone. I'm extremely glad I made the switch. The 1520 is very light despite it's size but feels extremely sturdy. Design is simple and looks sleek while doing nothing but impress anyone who catches a glance of it.
Compared to other 1080p smart phones this display is by far better. I work at a computer store and the most commonly owned phone is the Samsung galaxy note 3, which also has the 1080p display, and we all agree the Nokia Lumia 1520 hands down is far more clear, bright, and with better contrast.
Not to mention fast! The snap dragon 800 2.2ghz may not be used to it's fullest potential yet on the windows phone 8 platform but every single application runs seamlessly and launches instantly. Even with having 1 gigabyte less RAM than the note 3 (2 gigs compared to 3) my coworkers and myself agree it runs noticeably faster.
At the moment I do not use battery saver and after a full charge I've been able to skip days to charge the phone and coming from my iphone 4s it's mind blowing. My old iphone would not make it through a 10 hour shift at work without needing to be charged.
The only negative thing I have to report is twice since getting the phone the display has had this very odd issue. Randomly after recently locking the phone while still on the lock screen it appears like a photo negative for a moment then going back to normal. After a recent windows phone update it hasn't happen again but it is worth noting. I've seen other reviews reporting this as well.
Also b/c of the size of the phone it is difficult to handle with one hand. I wanted a large phone, so this has had no affect on me personally. If you are on the fence about large phones in general make sure you actually handle this phone before purchasing it. It is one thing to read it has a 6 inch display... a whole totally different experience to actually hold this beast!
5/5 stars! I will never own anything but a windows phone going forward. Goodbye disappointing apple products!

Take A Bow Nokia!

Main reason for me to buy this phone was the size. I have been using it for two weeks now and I am more than impressed. Now this phone replaced my 920 so I was already use to windows 8. So no huge surprise there except for the new 8.3 update features. I like the personalized text tones for each contact and the addition of another row of live tiles. ( I hope the add personalized notifications for email, eg one tone for work email another tone for personal email) I also like the new program Microsoft created to upload music, much better than before.
The phone has a wonderful camera that takes awesome shots, I look forward to my next trip so I can use the story teller app) The battery is wonderful goes forever with normal calls and data.

All I can say is this iphone fan boy is so happy I make the switch. I have hand iPhones ever since they first came out and this Nokia is not only better than an iphone but so much better than anything out there right now. I can't say enough good things about this awesome phone.

No more Iphone

I switched from Iphone after two versions (starting with the 3G, and the 4) to the Lumia 1520, seeking something different than the Iphone I had been so used to. The main reason for switching is that I was sick of Itunes. Itunes is such a horrible program and the fact that you are basically dependent on this for anything related to the Iphone. This phone has proven to me that Iphone is deff not the king of the market. I use very few apps so the lack of them was not concerning, however I was still able to find things that I do use. The camera was also a big selling point for me. This is not to say that the Iphone camera is inferior by any means....I am just happy that I explored something different in the phone market.

The Best Phaplet you can find

I've had the phone for over 6 months and it keeps getting better with updates like 4K video after Denim update. I tested Windows 10 as well and it worked great but restored to Win 8.1 for my personal apps and stuff. I plugged a SanDisk 128GB early this week and no issues so far. If you don't mind the huge size it's the one to get.

This is one of the best phones I have ever owned. When I damaged my first 1520 I even purchased another one. I have always purchased Windows phone but this one is the greatest. The updates always improve the phone. I have had no major problems with the phone. If I was still working it would be a great thing to be able to take my office with me. This phone has everything. It is a great phablet. If it is still on the market, in the future, I will purchase another 1520.
