We got the new unit to replace a much older one. We had very good luck at the store, finding it. We were happy that the doors and the meat drawer could be changes. We needed the hinges on the left and the drawer on the right side. I worked out just right. It is smaller than the one we replaced, but there is still a lot of space. Thanks.

The noise is so terrible when the fan and compressor runs. It sounds like the exhaust fan in a bathroom. I live in a condo and I can hear it in my bedroom. My old fridge did not bother me at all. If you can get over the noise (runs every half hour) it does what is expected; keeping my ice cubes frozen and food cold.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The refrigerator I bought just 5 years ago died and I decided to get a GE. I have other GE products and they are of good quality. I chose a slightly smaller refrigerator from what I had, but this has all the features and more that my old one had. I'm very pleased with my purchase.
