This is a step up from the plain white refrigerators of the past, as it is quite attractive. We especially like the full size tempered glass shelves that are not split in the middle like our last refrigerator.
I have no problem so far with performance of this economical top freezer model and it looks good. But I have encountered problems with two design features that were only evident after in-home placement & daily use. The temperature controls are in the front for easy access but the mechanism has a curved bottom and hangs more than 2-1/4" into the top shelf space. I must access the refrigerator compartment from a slight sideway angle so I'm always hitting the mechanism when placing or removing items from the right side top shelf. An even bigger concern is the design of the door handles, particularly for the freezer door. When I bend over to place or retrieve items from the main compartment, I invariably hit my head or shoulder on the protruding square edge of the freezer door handle. I am researching to see if I can find replacement handles to overcome this problem. But door shelves are roomy, two crisper drawers with separate controls are convenient, pull-out for deli meats is really handy and freezer is more than adequate.
I purchased this refrigerator as a back up to my refrigerator in my kitchen. So far this refrigerator is fuctioning perfectly. It's a simple, reliable and a pretty unit. I'm very happy with it and would recommend it.
The refrigerator I bought just 5 years ago died and I decided to get a GE. I have other GE products and they are of good quality. I chose a slightly smaller refrigerator from what I had, but this has all the features and more that my old one had. I'm very pleased with my purchase.
