Bought this for my wife two months ago. She used it maybe 10 times and now it won't power on. Disappointing.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought one, it broke after several months. They gave me a new one. That one broke after just a few weeks. I thought maybe I had been storing them badly, or not cleaning them properly, or leaving it on for too long. So I bought one more because I lost the receipt for the second broken one. I took really good care of it, and this one broke after maybe five uses. DO NOT BUY THIS. It is just too cheap, not worth it.

I bought this rice cooker in June and now it won't even power on. Probably not a big loss in the end as it was burning the rice when it did work. Next one probably won't be a black and decker.

I loved having the rice cooker but after just a short time it wouldn't power on in the middle of making dinner.

Perfect for small meals! I use it to make rice for two, oatmeal, etc. Every week I cook a half lb of yellow split peas, or a cup of lentils and it's perfect to make lunch for the week. Have used it weekly for years: perfect.
I would recommend this to a friend!

A friend gave this as a gift two weeks ago. Stopped working after 5 uses!! It just stopped in the middle of cooking. It will not power on or anything! Definitely don't buy it.

Will not cook rice correctly.

I bought this a little over a month ago and now the switch will not stay on cook. If I would like it cook and not just "keep warm" I have to hold down the switch. It kinda defeats the purpose of a rice cooker.
