Great iron with a lot of steam

I really like this iron and it works wonderful. It is very easy to use, hats up quickly, and products enough stream for just about any task you give it. the iron is well made and appears to be durable (but only fine well really tell if that is the case). It has an extra long cord which is nice since I use the vertical stream option for some of my clothes and there is no power outlet in my closet. while it does have a large surface plate, I did find that the tip is small enough to work on smaller areas like my collars and shirt cuffs.

Was fantastic at first...

But about 4 months into its use, the temp control stopped working. Now it will only come on in two tiny locations on the dial, and both are near the cotton setting, fortunately. My previous Sunbeam Steam-something iron was about 8 years old when I decided to update to a more modern one. Well, this one went into the closet and the old one came back out because it always works and doesn't clog. This one clogged just a few short weeks after it was new - and using the same filtered water the other one used for years which incidentally I never had to clean once. I want to like this new one, but the quality has vanished.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good, but could be better

Works well for ironing, but the option to use as a garment steamer is a huge disappointment. The "Burst of Steam" feature can only be used in three second intervals, which doesn't work well as a vertical garment steamer. Also, the position of the dial is a little awkward. Overall, I am satisfied, but there is definitely room for improvement. Disclaimer: I received this iron as a sample to test and review, but these are my genuine opinions.

Great Iron

It is a replacement for a 20 year old iron that started leaking. I am actually glad the old iron died. I only use once or twice a month to iron cotton work pants that come out of the dryer looking like they have been slept in. The thing I like the most is the 4 steam settings. I used it on high setting and it made short work of the cotton pants, the old iron put out very little steam making the job much tougher. The bottom plate also just glides across the material.
Did I mention the steam, it cut the amount of time to iron the pants by at least a third!

Great job, but is bulky and runs out of steam

This is as very nice looking iron, and it does a great job with the end result of your work. The reason I only gave it 3 stars was because it is bulky, easily knocked over, and the water chamber is small and needs to be refilled much faster than my older iron. All in all, it is a good iron for the $30 range, and I would recommend it to light users. I want to note that I received this product as a sample to review, but was not paid for the review. It is my genuine opinion. .

Not just a beautiful iron - gets the job done too!

The first thing that struck me when I pulled this out of the box was the color. The bright blue, made me want to use it. It does have a long cord, which makes it more convenient to use. I also liked the fact that it automatically turns off if left in one position too long - whether that's horizontally on the fabric (stops heating after 30 seconds of no movement), or vertically (after 15 minutes). It has both a spray mist feature as well as a shot of steam. It even has a vertical shot of steam feature so you can use it on hanging clothes or curtains or drapes. I replaced my other Sunbeam with this one. I sew a lot of quilt tops, and chose this for the pointed front, extra steam holes, sturdy sole plate, dial settings and long cord. It is heavier than my previous iron, so I am adjusting to letting the iron do more of the work.

Gets the job done

The Sunbeam Turbo Steam Iron is a decent iron. The steam feature leaves a little to be desired compared to other irons I've used. The dial is slightly awkward to reach due to the large gap between the dial and handle and can be somewhat slippery when trying to turn. The iron does perform ok and is able to remove wrinkles. The extra long 10 foot cord and large reservoir are a nice convenience. The performance met my expectations of a low to mid level iron. The Sunbeam Turbo Steam Iron is a decent iron that will get the job done, however, there is definitely room for improvement. Disclaimer: I received this iron as a sample to test and review.
