Did not work long

I bought 2 manual steamers and one digital steamer about 9 weeks ago. One, I gave as a gift and the other 2 were for my own use. I started with the manual steamer and liked it very much. However about 6 weeks into use the manual control/timer would stick at the the 20 minute mark. I had to unplug it or force the timer to turn to off. More importantly, that means I have to be there to make sure the food is cooking. I have to watch my own clock. The timer is of no benefit. Very disappointed as it is really quite new. I liked the product while it worked correctly.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought this to replace the same model that I used for more years than I can count. The first one still worked fine, but I put it away wet and it got moldy. These things last forever and steam vegetables perfectly. The large basket fits 6 large ears of sweetcorn or a huge bunch of broccoli. Perfect.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Hubby purchased a used Oster 5712 steamer downloaded Manuel from site no issues. Cleaned steamer with vinegar since it appeared a lil dirty. Then steamed 4 hard boiled eggs plus cauliflower & broccoli to perfection. Tomorrow steam shrimp & corn. Thank you Oster am cooking healthy dishes.

6 quart steamer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my second one. First one I had for years. Used it ALL the time. Heating element finally burned out. Next one, not as good as the first one, but close. Now my Step Mom wants one and you no longer have it. You a REALLY need to bring it back. I will be lost without mine when this one dies.
