[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had my little chopper for at least a year and love it! However, I'm going to have to buy another one because I put the lid on top of a hot toaster and it melted! I wouldn't even consider replacing it with any other kind.
I would recommend this to a friend!

First time I used it only the hi speed worked. Second time I tried using it nothing worked at all. Maybe it's a dud. But definitely will be trying a different brand when I go to the store tomorrow.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was a gift,as my old B/D 15 yrs,my son thought I needed a new chopper,now I'm sorry I discard it.... as this new Oster jams up with a small amount 1/2 cup of Parmesan cheese,cut in 1/4 pieces....... As a rule I always purchase Oster, not happy :(

Electrifying experience!

I bought this product because I have a similar, smaller capacity chopper that I like very much and wished to have a larger capacity chopper. The second time I used this chopper (on Christmas Eve to chop cranberries), flames/sparks came out of the unit and it melted from the inside out!

I bought this product today. I was using it to crush oreos, I crushes a package of oreos with it went to use it again it make a strange noise and started smoking. It no longer works, it was a waste of money and I will never buy an Oster products again!!!!

Years ago I picked one up at a garage sale (never been opened) Well, I have dropped it multiple times and it has several cracks. This weekend I decided it was time to buy a new one. I used the older one for at least 15 years. I would say that I got my $3.00 worth!! I can't imagine this little tool not in my kitchen or anyone's kitchen!! Very pleased!!

Bought this to replace my wife's years old chopper. She used it 3 times, it started sparking inside, visible through the safety tab slot, then just quit working. I emailed Oster and described the problem. The response was that a replacement was on its way, no questions. The replacement arrived. My wife used it the first time and it was immediately sparking from the same place. I pushed the button 3 or 4 times myself, there was a small electrical explosion from the safety tab slot and it took out my entire GFI protected south kitchen circuit. I emailed describing this experience and received a link to a different Oster chopper they offered as a replacement. This link included 6 reviews, 3 5-star, and 3 1-star from people who'd had experiences similar to mine with the original model. I responded that I'd prefer to receive a defect free chopper of the same model as the 2 that failed, but after looking at reviews online I found that the original chopper I purchased fails about 50% of the time. So I agreed to the alternate chopper offer, regardless of its 50% 1 star reviews. I truly hope whatever they send me works. It would appear that its a 50/50 gamble with any Oster chopper, so this being my third, the odds might be in my favor. If this 3rd one fails I'll inform them and spend the money on a KitchenAid chopper to match her blender...
