This unit has been a disaster. It started making a lot of noise during the agitation and spin cycles after about a year of moderate use. A new motor had to be installed shortly after the one-year warranty expired. Luckily I had extended warranty coverage. Now it is making a terrible clanging noise after another 6 months. My warranty coverage is now likely expired and I'm looking at a costly repair. Terrible quality.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This unit, is a space saver, and it is all electric, vety quiet and works woth the 1/4 of water than the older models..

Dryer won't heat

Bought this approximately 6 months ago the dryer quit heating, I checked the breaker, the vent hose and outlet but no issues their. Will be contacting GE about service.

Is filling wnough water?

I found this washer GTUP270EM1WW installed in my new location
Apparently is washing OK, but I am concern about the water level.
I tried auto sensing and different load sizes and I see the machine start washing (Agitator starts rotating), even if the water level is below the top level of the loaded clothes. Then I can hear during washing eventually more water is added to drain.

Is this a normal behavior or the machine should start washing only if all the clothes are completely emerged under water?

Great space saver

I needed a small yet hard working washer dryer in a space where I did not have to go up and down stairs. Love this one but need to have better access to repair
