Not happy

I have had the unit for 10 months. The washer is OK with evenly soiled clothes. Often is does not spin all the water out, and you hear it splash on the botton when rotating the load.
The dryer has problems. The lint cather has a desing leaving one side of it flexible and feeble. I stopeed pulling it out and use a wet hand to clean it.
The dryer rotates only in one direction, so long and large items like bed sheets or towels get twisted and stay damp inside that twist.
What I find worse is that the dryer destroys clothing with buttons, zippers and snaps, averaging a couple items a month. There is a spot somewhere inside that catches buttons and such, the machine rotates in one direction, and the item gets ripped. It even catches towels by the thickest hemmed corner and twists those unbelievably.
The door of the dryer when opened, keeps closing on its own, even if the unit is perfectly level. It hits you on the head when you rotate the load. I had to put a magnet on the shelf near the unit to keep the door from closing.
Neither the washer nor the dryer has an end-of-cycle signal.
The good side is, it is relatively cheap and fits small spaces.

Different Info depends on who you talk to before purchase

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Like it. However, I called GE Tech line 3x, asked about electric connection. Each time I was told my electrician would have to run a 220 AND a 110 for the washer. Of course the manuals say nothing specific. We could not find any 110 connect, and after we hooked it up, washer/dryer get its power through the 220 plug. QUALITY control......there were 2 screws on the back panel at the top that were only screwed in partially. Scares me that internal connects my be 'loose', I spoke to GE after the delivery, they offered to send a tech out to take it all apart to see! It shakes a little bit more than in the store, its level, and Im concerned that something may not be 'tight' inside.
I would recommend this to a friend!

All that I expected

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The washer holds all the laundry I need it to, and I usually fill it up. It is a bit louder than I would like, but it is in the back of the house and is away from people. Thy dryer runs quietly in my opinion, and dries the load quickly. It is simple to operate and has given me no problems. It has been in the house for two months.

Love the big washer, but no buzzer on the dryer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I first thought that the buzzer on the dryer was just not working and called the store. They checked and called back and said that there was no buzzer. I did not even know they made dryers like this, so I would not have thought to ask. I have to remember to get out a timer or my clothes are all wrinkled. How strange to not have this feature in 2012.
