Dryer stains everything!

We purchased the stackable washer dryer and within 1 m month, all of our clothes were coming out with black stains which looked like grease. GE swapped out the set and the new set did exactly the same thing. When we called again, they sent a tech out to replace a dryer piece that was KNOWN to do this. Staining all of our clothes, sheets, etc. It took about 6 months for the stains to start showing up again after the tech "fixed" the issue. Now we're out of warranty and GE could care less. They will not do anything to compensate us for the multiple items it's product ruined. They offered to send a tech out again, bit of course at a steep charge to the consumer. I've researched this model and found the same complaints.

This unit ruins your clothes!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My Landlord replaced an old unit that went bad with this unit. I wish I had the old unit back becuase this new unit does a terrible job of washing and drying. The wash machine does not wash the clothes very clean and if you use fabric softner it dose not rinse out so it leaves spots on clothes. It also leaves clothes so wrinkled when they come out of the wash it looks like they have been in the washer for a week wet! The washer also rinsed my clothes four times the othe day, not sure why? As for the dyer it's no better. Anything that has a string on it the string will be shredded off. It also rips off buttons and has put holes in sweaters. I have also found black marks on clothes that will not ome out. I hang a lot of clothes to dry and the dewrinkle cycle gets absolutely no wrinkles out so I have to put it on for a lot longer and my clothes still look wrinkled. This unit is just very poor! Is GE going to reimburse us for all the clothes it has ruined. I really don't have a lot of extra money to be buying new clothes!!!

Good value for a small space

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this product for a small laundry room in a condo. It has worked perfectly since day one and I've had it for about 7 months now. I use it about twice a week and I would recommend this product for someone looking for a reliable washer/dryer combo for a small space.

I bought this to replace a small ages-old stackable and it works flawlessly! Dries great, it's quiet, and SPACIOUS! I would highly recommend this!

Problem with dryer leaving marks on clothes

The washing machine works reasonably well. The dryer has a problem. There are about six thin glide strips on the outside of the drum. If clothes get caught on the outside of the drum, which happens more frequently than one would expect, it leaves a black mark on the clothing which cannot be removed.

Worst Washer and Dryer I ever owned

Since day 1 the unit did not perform correctly. Had to call for service 3 times because the lid was not locking and prevented the was cycle to begin. But that is just the first problem. When washing clothes, this is "suppose" to be a quiet machine however this thing is so loud it shakes the entire house...min you I live on the 2nd floor in a condo...my poor neighbor downstairs. Well every time the was cycle is in spin it knocks and spins sp quickly that the tub sounds like it is banging again all 4 sides of the washer. This unit is so loud that I have to turn it off mid way through the spin cycle and let the clothes air dry before putting in the dryer....an yes the unit is level....let now get to the dryer....i cant count the number of buttons which have been torn off of shirts and pants...also all everything get tangled into knots and all of the clothes come out wrinkled....I hate that I even own this unit and would love to get rid of it but I don't have a choice as I have limited space...need to find an alternate to this unit to replace somehow......so to sum up the review do not buy this unit unless it is you last option as you might be better off going to the laundry mat to have your clothe cleaned.
