broken after 15 months!

I bought this combo unit in March 2013 and had a few issues - one was no buzzer when dryer was done, two was the dryer left black crease streaks on my white sheets and three and most important is it was making a lot of noise on the washer spin cycle.
Service came out today to say the bearings are shot and new inner and outer tubs need to be replaced. It's spraying oil under the dryer and will eventually break all together. Most likely leaking water thru my condo and below. Fortunately I have an extended service contract.

My Compact Laundry Center

If you have a relatively small storage space and need large laundry and dryer capacity; then the stacked Laundry center is for you. Awesome to wash and dry large comforters and towels. Outside of regular clothes I think the washing of comforters is really the BEST

I bought this last year and it has performed very well. The laundry tub is huge, especially for a stacked unit. My only complaint is there is no buzzer to signal the cycle has ended.

GE replaced the original unit puchased in September of 2013 due to the mechanics not finding a repair to prevent clothing from getting caught in the dryer and coming out with dark, black stains as a result. The new washer/dryer that was given to us in January of 2014 continues to damage our clothing in the same fashion. My husband and I are extremely dissapointed in this purchase and GE.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We recently purchased this and it was installed last week. Am so glad you can allow machine to fill and then be able to allow the clothes to soak. Hubby is thrilled that the dryer does NOT have the annoying buzzer. Have done about six loads and so far am very pleased. Was very apprehensive when I discovered all new machines lock the lid at some point; am glad there is a pause button to allow adding items.
