Poor design Lack of choices for controls No proper indicator to say when dryer is done This was the upgrade offered by the builder and I would not purchase another GE appliance

I bought this 3 months ago and overall am well pleased with the performance. It is quite noisy and makes some strange noises at times but is still working well.

No light or buzzer for the dryer. The light was obvious when we bought but for the dryer not to have a buzzer or alarm when it is finished was a complete surprise as all of our past dryers had such an alarm. Very poor decision not to have this. Also after running this dryer for a month or so it began to put black streaks on the white material that was being dried. Seems to be coming from the edge of the drum.

Nice size for a stacked unit

I purchased this unit after my previous unit of 32 years finally died (not a GE). The machines' capacities are much larger than my last. Both units do a good job; however, they are extremely loud- the washer often sounds like parts are loose, banging together and it will soon fall apart, and the dryer has an ear-piercing hum. I must keep the doors to my laundry room closed when either is running!
I considered returning the unit but since I am satisfied with both machines' performances I'll deal - maybe get some earplugs!

My son bought it for me because I had back surgery and could not do steps. I am so glad he did as it does a wonderful job.
