Great product

This is my first stackable washer/dryer and I must say that I am impressed. It holds more than I expected and I love the auto sensing feature. It does have a unusual sound when it is agitating compared to full size washers. The only negative issue is from the delivery and setup. The delivery guys knocked down a valance when bringing the unit through the door and then thought there was a problem with the water supply but turns out the lid needs to be down for the water to fill.
I would recommend this to a friend!

We have three of these units and they have been in service since December. Since then, two have had debilitating failures.
One's lid lock broke after only a couple of months. While the warranty tech was on-site, he pointed out that the Auto Sense level should never be selected while the washer tub is empty, that a serious failure will result. I was not encouraged; the lid broke with little provocation and utterly sidelined the unit, how bad would a "serious" failure be?
Another's dryer drum contacted the heating coils: instant short and catastrophic heating failure. That was quick. It's only four months of service and this happens? I can see how the heating coil as designed is a big space savings but there's a lot of unused space under the drum! This failure-prone design is unnecessary and a different heating coil inside a separate duct at the bottom of the dryer portion could be serviced without removing the drum.
Finally, another dryer's handle snapped. *bink* and off it comes. I repaired by filling the large empty space backing the weak little handle clips with epoxy putty, drilled and screwed. If that fails - and it will take a mighty yank now - I'll drill completely through the door and BOLT the handle on.
For their extreme youth and supposed modernity, these washers and dryers have been surprisingly trouble-prone. Based on this experience I am not likely to EVER buy GE products for my own use.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very Noisy Machines

You can't stay in the laundry room when the dryer is on because it is so noisy. On the second use, a button got caught on something inside the dryer drum and ripped a pair of shorts. We will be contacting customer service about replacing this equipment. They are a big disappointment.
