I love that I have the option of using the touch screen or the keyboard. Of course it runs on android which I love! I love love the option of switching to a front facing camera, it makes taking pictures of myself a lot easier! The only thing that I wish would get fixed is that it freezes up every now and then. But it does not happen that frequently and it is more than tolerable. I would recommend this phone to anyone anyday.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Lightweight

This device needs flash for picture taking. The battery dies quicker. It's too heavy. It should have a button to pop the screen because it gets stuck. It needs better phone cases and it should come with earphones.
Cons: Poor quality, Too big, Did not meet expectations

Samsung has updated the sidekick 4g twice since it was released. both claiming to fix the freezing causing the phone to completely lock up. So badly that you have to take out the battery. The features WOULD be great if it wasn't for the constant freezing. Until this is fixed, I would not recommend buying this phone. Too much of a hassle. Don't buy.

OMG I LOVE THIS PHONE!!!!

I really can't say enough about this phone. It does EVERYTHING. I've not needed anything more from a phone than what this one has provided. Access to all kinds of free and fun apps, it's fast, and so easy to get used to even if you're not tech savvy.
My only concerns are that sometimes you just have to reset it, and the internal memory is low so you have to be careful to make sure most of your downloads go to your SD card. But with a phone that does so much I'm sure that's just the nature of the beast and totally worth the very minor frustration. The only other thing is that the lock button is a bit awkward. But you get used to it fairly quickly.
I've always had the best luck with Samsung, and will continue to be a customer knowing that quality, and overall design and performance are always top notch!

Samsung SGH-T839 or aka Sidekick 4g is amazing! besides the offset of the slide instead of the flip of the screen panel this phone is excellent. Does everything you need it to do. Has amazing features and is capable of handling much more than its predecessors. Netflix capable, searching the web is faster and more desktop like than ever before. Very affordable phone. The best qwerty keyboard than anything else you ever had. Highly recommended. Zero glitches- rare but if you happen to have a glitch- this is such an easy fix and does not require to send this phone in at all- all you have to do is a factory reset which is located in your phone settings. once done your phone works amazing!

More bad then good

Switched from a MyTouch to the Sidekick becuase of the keyboard the design is great and is simple to use but its loaded with too many apps you cant download which are all saved on the phone and can't be moved to an SD card so it slows up the phone all the time. Its constintly freezing and restarting out of no where, turns on and off. Found out that the software is a super slowone and Samsung is working on an updated software for it but who knows how long that will take. Ready to Smash it!

Cons: freezez, software is slow
